A Mother's Wish

Sept. 21, 2006 |   By a Mainland China Falun Gong practitioner

(Clearwisdom.net) One day my wife and I met the orphan of a fellow practitioner, Lian Lian. When her mother was persecuted to death in 2002, she was only 16 years old. Now she is working to make a living.

We were very happy when we heard that she had started to practice Falun Gong with the help of her mother's sister. We went to visit her, and Lian Lian gave my wife 200 Yuan when we got ready to leave. She told us that she had earned the money through her work and asked us to donate it to the Falun Gong materials production center.

At first, I was at a loss and wanted to reject the money. I told her, "We cannot accept this money. We were supposed to help you with your difficulties but have failed to do so. We are very pleased to see that you are able to take care of yourself but you also need to help your three younger sisters to get through school. Please keep the money for yourself."

She became anxious and said, "We don't have a lot of difficulties right now. We will be able to save more sentient beings if the money is used for Falun Gong materials. This would also be my mother's wish."

Both my wife and I became teary-eyed. We were deeply touched by her pure thoughts and could find no more reasons to reject her. We accepted the money, knowing that it was given with the best wishes from both mother and daughter.
