The Understanding of a New Practitioner

Oct. 1, 2007 |   By a practitioner in mainland of China

(Clearwisdom.net)

This July, I went to another town to take care of my sister who was ill. While I was there, I went to the market every morning. One time by accident (in fact I should say it was bound to be this way) I heard that roasted fish skin was tasty and immediately wanted to try it. I then went straight away to buy the fish skin. When I saw the seller killing the fish, I suddenly remembered the issue of killing and gave up my desire. However, the next day when I got up I found red bumps all over my body. They were very itchy. Only after I calmed down and looked within did I find that I had such unkind thoughts (toward the fish). The little bumps made me suffer, let alone the pain of being skinned. We practitioners should guard our every thought.
