Some Thoughts after Studying Master's Recent Articles

Oct. 14, 2007 |   By a Falun Dafa practitioner from China

(Clearwisdom.net) Master sent congratulatory messages "To the European Fa Conference" and "To the Midwest Fa Conference in Minnesota" on September 22 and 23, 2007.

Studying these two recent messages made me keenly aware that the time for saving sentient beings is becoming pressing, and that this represents a major responsibility for us as Fa-rectification period Dafa disciples.

I associate this with the upcoming Fa Conference - "The Fourth Mainland China Falun Dafa Practitioners Cultivation Experience Sharing Conference on the Internet." This is another precious opportunity to validate the Fa and improve as a whole body. Furthermore, during this process of soliciting articles, benevolent Master published recent articles regarding the Fa conferences. None of these things are by chance. I came to understand that in the pressing Fa-rectification process, Master has looked forward to and encouraged this soon-to-be Mainland China conference during the Fa-rectification process so that we will write down our own cultivation experiences.

When I wrote this article I felt deeply ashamed and deeply moved by Master's mercy. When I first read, "A Call for Articles for The Fourth Mainland China Falun Dafa Practitioners Cultivation Experience Sharing Conference on the Internet," I was numb instead of being calm. I was also puzzled by my reaction. During the last Internet Conference, I had intended to write something at the time, and wanted to do so with confidence, although I had only studied the Fa for two years then. In addition, I encouraged veteran practitioners to write of their cultivation experiences and told them that it was also a process of cultivation, and they should overcome their human notions. I encountered interference and ended up not finishing the article, but my mental state was still good at the time.

Now I realize that the reason for not completing the article was rooted in selfishness - wanting to validate myself, and a fear of encountering difficulties. When I got the information about the conference this year, my first thought was that I had not been diligent and just so-so, and had nothing worthy to write about. I also regarded this negative thought as my own thought. At present I know that most of the practitioners who do not want to write articles think likewise. Certain practitioners are afraid they are not good at writing. As a matter of fact, we should make it clear that we are writing about our own cultivation experiences, not taking part in a writer's essay competition.

This incident caused me to look within based on the Fa and made me discover that the obstacle was simply my selfishness, or in other words, the attachment to validating myself. I thought I was not very diligent, so I didn't want to participate, and I was afraid my article would not be published because of my poor writing skills. I actually harbor a desire for recognition, and am trying to avoid difficulties. I want to have the advantages but hesitate to contribute.

It is human beings cultivating, not divine beings. We experience many successes on the cultivation path and have to overcome many shortcomings and experience losses. Our only pursuit should be to become diligent, learn our lessons, and improve our thoughts and actions. No practitioners dare to say they have never stumbled. Each of us summarizes what we have experienced and learned traveling on our different paths, find where we fall short and gain wisdom of the Fa principles. These are our cultivation experiences.

Master said,

"[I know that] doing a good job of summarizing and exchanging experiences in cultivation and related to saving sentient beings, as with doing better at fulfilling what Dafa disciples ought to do, are things that you the disciples of Dafa hope to achieve by attending the conference." ("To the Midwest Fa Conference in Minnesota" 2007)

Fellow practitioners! The Fa is explicitly stated, and it will depend on how we carry out its direction. Being a new practitioner, I will not miss this opportunity to contribute to this Fourth Experience Sharing Conference on the Internet.

I would also like to encourage the veteran practitioners in Mainland China to participate in this conference. I think most of the practitioners in China have cultivated for over eight years. No one will believe anyone who says he has no cultivation experiences to share.
