Many Beijing Practitioners in Universities Arrested Recently and Their Houses Ransacked

Oct. 20, 2007

(Clearwisdom.net) Recently, many Falun Dafa practitioners were arrested and their houses were ransacked in Beijing. On September 11, 2007, alone, over ten practitioners were singled out by government agents.

On September 11, 2007, practitioner Mr. Hu Chuanlin, an employee of Beijing International Studies University, and his wife, Ms. Huang Ling, an employee of Communication University of China, were arrested by the Beijing police. There is no further information about couple.

Practitioner Xiaoxuan (gender unknown, family name unknown), an employee of Communication University of China, who lives at the Dingfuzhuang Area in the Chaoyang District in Beijing, was taken from his home by eight policemen on September 12, 2007. Police did not show any documents during the process and no one knows where Xiaoxuan was taken.

Agents from the Beijing 610 Office ordered agents of all 610 Offices and all government-supervised neighborhood committees in Beijing, as well as other community officials, to go to practitioners' houses and/or call practitioners to harass them. There were rumors of another "re-education" (brainwashing) class and of renewed requirements for Falun Dafa practitioners to write "thought reports." Busybodies went to practitioner's homes wanting to "check on them." All these activities are related to a renewed intensification of the persecution of of Falun Gong surrounding the Seventeenth Party Congress and the Beijing Olympics.
