Eight Deaths due to Torture Verified in October 2007

Nov. 14, 2007

(Clearwisdom.net) Torture-related deaths of eight Falun Gong practitioners were verified in October 2007. Seven of them died in September 2007, one died in October 2007. According to statistics published on the Minghui website, ninety-five such deaths have been verified from January through October this year.

Eight deaths happened in seven provinces and municipalities. There were two cases in Hunan Province, and one each in Heilongjiang Province, Hebei Province, Jilin Province, Chongqing City, Sichuan Province, and Anhui Province. Three were women. Four were over 50 years old.

Since the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and Jiang's regime began the persecution of Falun Gong on July 20, 1999, 3101 deaths due to torture or police brutality have been verified. The actual number of deaths is far more than that.

An independent investigation conducted by David Kilgour, former Canadian Secretary of State for Asia-Pacific and senior MP and human rights lawyer David Matas documents the organ harvesting atrocities committed by the CCP against Falun Gong practitioners in great depth.

In August 2007, Israeli police arrested four smugglers of human organs. They confessed that these organs were from political prisoners in China; executed prisoners and Falun Gong practitioners. This was reported by the biggest paper in Israel.

The Liberty Times reported on October 24, that Director Zhu Zhijun of the Tianjin No. 1 Central Hospital's Organ Transplant Center came to Taiwan in March 2007, to examine medical records and carry out pre-operation assessments for patients who are going to China for liver transplants. He did this in a meeting room at the Taipei Howard Hotel where he stayed. Over 50 Taiwan patients who had liver transplants at the Hospital were invited to attend a transplant patient's forum, with all expenses paid by the hospital. The report states that the Tianjin No. 1 Central Hospital is also called Oriental Organ Transplant Center, and is known as the biggest liver transplant center in Asia, conducting 600 to 700 liver transplants each year. The Liberty Times pointed out that in fact, not only Tianjin doctors came to Taipei to get business. Doctor Huang Shiwei from the Jiayi Urology Department said that Director Lin Minzhuan of the blood purification branch, organ transplants, Guangzhou Economic Development Zone Hospital, comes to Taiwan to meet kidney transplant patients each year.

The Coalition to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong in China (CIPFG) recently published their investigation recordings of the Beijing Army Hospital, Liaoning Province, Jinzhou City Court, Guangxi National Hospital and so on, which clearly indicate that the organ harvesting atrocities are still happening. Although the CCP passed a "Human Organ Transplant Rule" on May 1, 2007, which purportedly prohibits the sale of organs, authorities secretly continue dealing in organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners.
