(Clearwisdom.net) Some practitioners have relatively "complicated" views about Hu Jintao and Wen Jiabao (the current leaders of the Chinese government). Many practitioners are able to access the overseas websites and watch the New Tang Dynasty Television programs or listen to the Sound of Hope radio broadcasts. They pay great attention to the matters that they believe concern Dafa practitioners. They have thus increasingly generated many concerns about society. Some practitioners even take the commentaries and recommendations of the three big media run by Dafa practitioners as the changes and trends pertaining to Dafa's situation. Sometimes when the practitioners gather, they spend quite a lot of time discussing and remarking on China's current state affairs. They have unknowingly developed some human notions and attachments to human society.
Certain practitioners discussed the latest court matter regarding the Public Security Ministry Head Zhou Yongkang--that he has been charged, and that the court has accepted the lawsuit. This generates a wide range of discussion topics, including changes in the current political situation, the possibility of redressing the persecution and punishing the evildoers, as well as other current Chinese social trends. Additionally, the letter written by Wang Zhaojun in Anhui Province and his subsequent interviews are all encouraging to many practitioners. It has made many practitioners feel that this righteous person's action has garnered the support from the CCP's upper-level officials. This mindset had plummeted practitioners' thinking to a human level and narrows their comprehension. They cannot free themselves from ordinary theories and ways of thinking.
The purpose for Dafa disciples being engaged with society is very clear. Our foremost duties are to cultivate ourselves and assist Master in rectifying the Fa, and offer sentient beings salvation. Furthermore, Dafa disciples need to rise above and beyond people in human society. Celestial changes cause changes in society and they have happened for the Fa-rectification and Dafa disciples' saving sentient beings. Dafa disciples are the major players in society; endowed by Dafa, they shoulder the mission to save sentient beings.
Our thinking should be from the perspective of Dafa, based on Dafa, rather than focused on society's benefits and losses. By cultivating ourselves in society, we as Dafa disciples can harmonize society and lead society in the direction of Truth-Compassion-Forbearance. However, Truth-Compassion-Forbearance is the Fa and will not, in turn, respond to or be influenced by the demands and requirements of society.
Everything in human society is created by Dafa. It is because of the requirements of Dafa that there are changes in society. Everything was formed and exists for Dafa.
Dafa practitioners' media are the tools and windows practitioners are using to save sentient beings, while conforming to the ways of the thinking and criteria of worldly people. It is not that Dafa practitioners lower their standards to the level of the contemporary society to share happiness, love and hatred with people, and coexist and co-develop with those things in society.
Nothing we have done so far has been done for human society's concerns. Our goals are different. Dafa practitioners have made prehistoric oaths and they have their missions. They need to meet the requirements of their personal cultivation, shoulder the responsibility of saving sentient beings, follow the principles and requirements of Dafa, and eliminate the evil beings and elements that interfere with Dafa and persecute sentient beings and Dafa practitioners. None of these things are done in order to be in accord with changes in human society. Rather, it is just the opposite--human society's situation and changes have taken place to cooperate with Dafa and Dafa practitioners' needs and achievements.
Furthermore, we do not need to intentionally go and form one body with those who fight for the protection of their rights, the democratic activists, and those who stand up against the evil Party. It is Dafa's predestination that has made these people and Dafa practitioners come together. This is also the need of Dafa and the opportunity for them to be saved, and in the meantime, it is also their mission and good fortune to step forward during this period of time.
Although we live in the worldly society, our minds are supposed to be beyond it. No changes in human society could shake Dafa practitioners' faith and determination to save people. We should not develop human attachments and notions because of changes in society. We should know what we have come for and what we have come to do. We have already gone through severe persecution. If positive changes happen in society, we should keep even more rational mindsets. We are not waiting until the end of the persecution so that we can return to society to live, to be human and to get involved in society's developments. Instead, we need to complete our mission and return with our Master.
Currently, especially before the Communist Party's 17th Congress, the evil is particularly frenzied, which has severely affected Dafa practitioners' cultivation and their saving sentient beings. In some regions, severe losses have occurred. Some forced labor camps where the number of detained practitioners had previously become much lower are filled with practitioners again.
We need to purify ourselves even more while the evil beings and elements still exist; while these evil beings and elements rapidly decline in numbers; while the rectification of the human world is about to happen; while saving people has become so urgent; and while we become truly rational and mature. We need to go completely beyond and transcend human restrictions, assimilate ourselves into the great Fa, change the deeply-rooted, human theories and notions that are still left in our minds, and truly do well the three things Dafa disciples should do.
