Germany: The People of Hamburg Show Their Support for Falun Gong (Photos)

Nov. 16, 2007 |   By Xueli

(Clearwisdom.net) It was just before 11 a.m. that Spitale Strasse, the street that runs from the Hamburg Train Station to downtown Hamburg, started to become busy. On the first Saturday of October, as usual, street painters, musicians, and small bands prepared for their performances.

Falun Gong practitioners also had their information stand ready. On one side of the stand were banners and reenactments of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)'s crime of organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners. Practitioners set up a simulated operating table with a doctor in a white coat and a scalpel in hand. On the other side of the stand was a bright yellow tent that sheltered a long table with truth-clarification books, newspapers, magazines, and VCDs in Chinese and German and two petitions for signature collection to "Bring Jiang Zemin To Justice" and "Condemn the CCP's Crime of Organ Harvesting." In March 2006, it was disclosed that Falun Gong practitioners who were illegally imprisoned in China's labor camps and prisons were killed for their organs. Practitioners in Hamburg displayed photos and set up reenactments every time they held an information day.

Soon after the truth-clarification materials were ready, a middle-aged man stopped at the "operating table." He opened his eyes widely and read the banners, while a practitioner told him about the crimes taking place in China's labor camps. The man said, "No human being can do this, it is too cruel."

Two young women accepted leaflets from a practitioner, and then they hesitated at the sight of the "operating table." The practitioner explained, "We are here to reenact the CCP's live organ harvesting so that people can understand the cruelty of the persecution more clearly." These two women said, "Oh, I see, if the CCP could do such a thing, it is disgusting."

Many people came over to sign the petitions. Most of them were young people. They came in groups, signed one petition and then waited to sign the other one. One practitioner told a man who came up to inquire, "Falun Gong is a traditional way of cultivation from China. Besides the five sets of gentle exercises, practitioners should cultivate to be good people by following the principles of 'Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance.'" While she was explaining this, she inserted leaflets exposing the organ harvesting into the leaflets exposing facts of the persecution. The leaflets were taken away quickly. A girl waiting for her friend to sign the petition asked, "Why does the CCP persecute Falun Gong?" The practitioner explained, "The CCP suppresses all righteous beliefs, as it is atheist itself. It wants to control people's minds."

When asked if many people were coming to ask for literature, she said, "Yes, some of them even take literature for others. A man stays in China almost six months every year because of his job. He took one copy of all the truth-clarification literature and said he would read them before going back to China next time so that he could explain the facts to the Chinese people. A lady came specifically to sign the petition and did not take any literature. She said she had learned the facts a long time ago and wanted to support us now. So, you see, people know the facts better."

A boy about eight years old stayed a while in front of the information stand and attempted to ask some questions. But he was too shy and ran away. After a while, he came back with his father. His father pointed at the banners and said something to him. Then they walked to the table and signed the petition against the CCP organ harvesting.

When night came, the practitioners started to pack up, but there were still people coming to sign the petition. The box containing truth-clarification newspapers was closed and opened again and again.
