Practitioner Mr. Xiong Zhengming, a Young Teacher, Died in Police Custody

Dec. 20, 2007

(Clearwisdom.net) It has just been learned that Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Xiong Zhengming from Wanyuan City, Sichuan Province died while in police custody, and his body was hastily cremated by the local police.

Wanyuan City Domestic Security Division Chair Ye Xudong (male) and others gave inconsistent accounts of the cause of Mr. Xiong's death. It was first said that Mr. Xiong committed suicide while being transferred to the Xinhua Forced Labor Camp, but soon after issuing that statement, it was said he died in a traffic accident. The real cause of Mr. Xiong's death is suspicious. Why did the agents cremate his body so quickly? What are they trying to hide?

Mr. Xiong Zhengming, 39, was a computer science teacher at the Wanyuan City Vocational School. He was an excellent teacher, very well received by students and parents alike, because he worked very hard, lived a noble life, and often helped students from low income families.

On March 15, 2007, Wanyuan City 610 Office agent Zhao Chenghua (male), and Domestic Security agents Ye Xudong and Wang Qiang (male) stormed into the school. They forcibly took Mr. Xiong to the Wanyuan City First Detention Center, using the excuse that agents had detected that Mr. Xiong visited overseas websites. After being detained for more than eight months, the police sentenced Xiong Zhengming to one year of forced labor. Since he had already been detained for over eight months, in only 4-5 months his term should have ended. To get around this, the local police detained Mr. Xiong in the Wanyuan City Second Detention Center instead taking him to a labor camp.

On December 3, 2007, Ye Xudong and three other agents went to the Wanyuan City Second Detention Center with the intent of transferring Mr. Xiong to a forced labor camp out of town. Mr. Xiong repeatedly refused to go. At around 9:00 a.m. on December 4, 2007, Xiong Zhengming was forcibly taken by Wanyuan City Police Department Deputy Director Xu Ziyi (male) and four Domestic Security agents.

On December 5, 2007, Ye Xudong suddenly notified Mr. Xiong' parents (both in their eighties) that Mr. Xiong had committed suicide while en route to the Sichuan Province Xinhua Forced Labor Camp, by jumping out of the vehicle. He wanted Mr. Xiong's father to sign a paper authorizing his body to be cremated. Mr. Xiong's father refused and requested an investigation into Mr. Xiong's cause of death. Mr. Xiong had practiced martial arts since he was young, he was very strong, and his health had become even better after he started cultivating Falun Dafa. His father reasoned, why would he suddenly choose to die? Ye Xudong immediately changed his story and said that Mr. Xiong died in a traffic accident. He then threatened the old man, saying he would make his other two sons lose their jobs if he refused to sign the paper immediately, or if he leaked information to the public. Xiong Zhengming's father signed the paper against his will, and the body was quickly and secretly cremated.

Wanyuan City is a county-level city under Dazhou City. In March 2002, Mr. Zhang Guangqing from Wanyuan City became the first Falun Dafa practitioner tortured to death during detention. Mr. Xiong Zhengming was the second practitioner to die in custody. The main perpetrators are Ye Xudong and Wang Qiang.
