Minghui Radio Station Covers China via Satellite

March 17, 2007

(Clearwisdom.net) Beginning March 5, 2007, the Minghui Radio Station began broadcasting 24 hours per day to Asia, mainly to Mainland China and Taiwan through Eutelsat's W5 Satellite. The test run has been completed.

Background Introduction

According to Kevin, a Minghui Radio Station Producer, Minghui Radio was established in November 2005 as a radio station to clarify the truth like the Minghui website (the Chinese version of Clearwisdom). Short-wave radio signals were used at first to broadcast Minghui Radio to China, but now it is broadcasting to all of Asia, including Mainland China, 24 hours per day through Eutelsat's W5 Satellite along with NTDTV, Sound of Hope Radio Station, VOA (Voice of America), and RFA (Radio Free Asia).

He further explained that the three major audiences for Minghui Radio are Falun Dafa practitioners, the general public, and evildoers who participate in the persecution of Falun Gong. A variety of programs are prepared for these three audiences.

Program Contents

Kevin said, "Ever since the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) began persecuting Falun Gong in 1999, the practitioners in Mainland China have lost the freedom to participate in group Fa study, exercise practice, and experience sharing. Therefore, the Minghui Radio and website created several subject categories especially for Group Exercises, Minghui News, Cultivation Experience Sharing, Young Disciple's Garden, etc., enabling practitioners in China to learn about the current situation of validating Falun Dafa, clarifying the truth and cultivation experiences through the Internet or on the air."

He continued, saying that Minghui Radio has also prepared programming for the general public, including Minghui News Briefing, Current Focus, Minghui Forum, Cubical Dimension, Minghui Weekly, Heavenly Music-Pure Sound, Traditional Culture, Science and Technology, etc. He especially pointed out that all of the music in the Heavenly Music-Pure Sound segment are pieces composed by Falun Dafa practitioners after 1999.

Aimed at those who have participated in the persecution, subject categories were established discussing Current Focus, Good or Bad Arising from One Spontaneous Thought, etc. Kevin said that those people should be warned of the consequences of their actions after listening to these categories. Some of them who have learned that their crimes have been exposed on Minghui will not be so actively involved in the persecution as before or will stop participating altogether after enlightening to the principle that "Good will be rewarded with good, and evil will meet with retribution."

How to Receive Signals

Kevin said that the satellite covers a large area in China. Most places south of Liaoning Province and east of Gansu Province can use a 60-90cm Satellite dish (commonly called Little Ear). The program is not coded and can be received by most common receivers. Those already receiving the W5 Satellite systems can easily receive Minghui Radio by scanning the frequencies.

He specifically mentioned that the advantage of broadcasting through the satellite is that it cannot be easily interfered with, blocked, or censored by the CCP, also adding that it is very secure.

He also mentioned that Minghui Radio is still using the two short-wave signals to broadcast to Mainland China twice per day for one-hour broadcasts. These broadcasts are at Beijing Time 6:00-7:00 a.m.,7150 KHz, and 9:00-10:00 p.m., 6030 KHz.
