WOIPFG Announces Investigation into Chinese Anti-Cult Association's Interference With NTDTV's International Chinese Classical Dance Competition

April 30, 2007

(Clearwisdom.net) On April 25, 2007, the Chinese Anti-Cult Association (CACA) wrote to the Chinese Dance Association to slander NTDTV's International Chinese Classical Dance Competition. Recently, the NTDTV Chinese New Year Spectacular was performed in more than thirty cities across the world. The number of people attending reached more than 200,000 and the Spectacular won unprecedented praise. At present, Chinese classical dance has become a popular topic of discussion around the world. Still, some Chinese embassies and consulates are interfering with this good deed of promoting Chinese culture.

On March 26, 2004, the World Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong (WOIPFG) released its "Investigation Report on the Chinese Anti-Cult Association's Participation in the Persecution of Falun Gong". The report exposed the governmental nature of the association under the name of non-governmental organization. The main members of the association are high level officials of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), operating under the name of religious leaders or scientists. Under the direction of the CCP's Politics and Law Committee and 610 Office, the association has become the most important assailant in the persecution of Falun Gong and other groups with spiritual beliefs. The association members take advantage of their religious or scientific ranks, recommend means to persecute Falun Gong to the CCP regime, create anti-Falun Gong propaganda, and directly participate in various persecutory acts, including the so-called "transformation" of Falun Gong practitioners.

WOIPFG's report points out the Association's role in the staged Tiananmen Self-Immolation incident on January 23, 2001 and the following wide spread propaganda. WOIPFG noticed that just before the staged self-immolation incident occurred, the CCP was having difficulty sustaining the persecution of Falun Gong due to not having a reasonable excuse, and the CCP fell into difficulties at home and abroad. Within the following two months, the issue of the CCP's persecution of Falun Gong would be put forward again at the conference of United Nations Commission on Human Rights. The CCP urgently needed to make a case for the persecution to the Chinese people and the whole world in order to escape condemnation. On January 11, twelve days before the staged self-immolation incident, the CACA initiated the "One Million Signature" movement, which was preparation for the incident. At this critical moment, the staged self-immolation incident occurred at a suitable time, place and manner. The staged incident provided the much needed reason and momentum for the signature movement.

Since 2001, CACA has dispatched a delegation led by Wang Yusheng to the conference of United Nations Commission on Human Rights in Geneva to defend the CCP's crime of persecution of Falun Gong and other violations of human rights. In 2004, Falun Gong practitioner Yoko Kaneko from Japan recognized Wang Yusheng at the conference of United Nations Commission on Human Rights in Geneva. During her imprisonment in a forced labor camp in China, Ms. Yoko Kaneko was forced to watch a video program, in which Wang Yusheng specially advocated the use of sleep deprivation to torture Falun Gong practitioners. On the special topic meeting regarding genocide on the afternoon of April 24, 2004, a Swiss attorney, Ms. Boone, announced a lawsuit against the Assistant Director of the Chinese Anti-Cult Association, Wang Yusheng. Several Falun Gong practitioners decided to collectively file a lawsuit against Wang and received a positive response from the Geneva legal community. Seven attorneys agreed to accept this lawsuit filed by seven Falun Gong practitioners against Wang Yusheng. WOIPFG participated in the preparation of the lawsuit.

To evade the lawsuit, Wang Yusheng left the conference and never went to Geneva again. The head of the association did not show up in public in the last few years. This time he did not dare sign the article, but used the name of "Senior Specialist" when interviewed by the Chinese News Agency.

WOIPFG believes that CACA and its main members act as main perpetrators, assistants and persons holding responsibilities, and that they have committed unforgivable crimes. Now, CACA is interfering with the NTDTV International Chinese Classical Dance Competition, which demonstrates that the main members of this association are moving against the tide of history against Chinese traditional culture. WOIPFG will continue to pay attention to the progress of this case, and monitor and follow the movements of the main perpetrators to assist judicial departments to bring them to justice.

WOIPFG hopes that members of the association at each place and other persons relating to this case recognize that the CCP will soon disintegrate, regretfully realize their mistakes, and not sacrifice their futures for the CCP.
