(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Li Fengmei, born in 1965, was an outstanding English teacher at Xiongyue High School in Yingkou City, Liaoning Province. Because of her faith in Truthfulness- Compassion-Forbearance, she was arrested and imprisoned many times by lawless officials from the Chinese Communist Party. She was cruelly persecuted at the Gaizhou City Detention Center, Yingkou City Detention Center, Bayuquan No.3 Detention Center and Liaoning Provincial Women's Prison. Both her mind and body were severely injured and she was near death several times as a result of police abuse.

Li Fengmei started to practice Falun Dafa in 1997. Before learning the Fa, she was hot-tempered and her relationship with her mother-in-law was tense. Since practicing Dafa, she strives to be a good person according to Dafa's principles, continuously improves herself and is kind to others. She has a good reputation among the teachers and students in her school.

On "April 25", 1999, upon hearing that some Falun Gong practitioners in Tianjin were beaten for no reason and detained, to clarify the truth to the government, Li Fengmei went to Beijing to appeal within her legal rights. Because of this, her workplace and the 610 Office plotted to put her in a brainwashing class. Upon learning about this, her students went on class strike or threatened to transfer to another school to support their teacher. Bowing to the demands of the 610 Office, the school leadership put pressure on Li Fengmei to renounce Falun Dafa. After writing a guarantee statement against her will, she was deeply remorseful. She thought that since she could not even dare to speak the truth, how could she be entitled to be a teacher? So she wrote three public letters to her school leadership, the Educational Committee in Gaizhou City, and the Public Security Bureau in Xiongyue Town respectively. Being afraid of receiving punishment from his superiors, the president of Xiongyue High School, Yu Jiasheng, reported to the Public Security Bureau in Gaizhou City several times. Later, with support from the Public Security Bureau in both Gaizhou City and Xiongyue Town, vice president of the Public Security Bureau Wu Lihua, came to the school with several police officers and arrested Li Fengmei. She was imprisoned at Gaizhou City Detention Center. Li Fengmei firmly resisted the persecution and went on a hunger strike. She was released after four or five days with no charges against her.

In 2002, the Public Security Bureau in Xiongyue Town again, for the second time, forcibly took Li Fengmei to a brainwashing class in Yingkou City. Because the police had threatened to force her to have an abortion, she chose to leave her home. Bad people then spread a rumor that Falun Gong practitioners did not care about their family or children. In August 2003, Li Fengmei, at that time a homeless person, was again arrested in Bayuquan District and imprisoned in Bayuquan District Detention Center for one and a half years. During that period, officers took turns swearing at and beating her and her body was severely injured. She was sentenced to four years of imprisonment and was twice taken to Shenyang City Prison, which refused to accept her because her health condition did not pass the examination.

In October 2004, for the third time, the Public Security Bureau in Bayuquan District forcibly took Li Fengmei, whose physical condition was very weak, to Liaoning Provincial Women's Prison where she was tortured. Xiongyue High School leadership fired Li Fengmei. Under pressure, her husband also divorced her.

In July 2006, as the result of persecution in Liaoning Provincial Women's Prison, all of the lymph nodes in Li Fengmei's body swelled and her life was in danger. The prison refused to release her and continued to persecute her in the General Hospital of the Prison District in Shenyang City.

On January 2, 2007, Yu Chengshui and Chen Haixin, guards at the No. 10 ward of the women's prison, incited criminals Chen Fengyun and Sun Xiaodan to lock Li Fengmei in a storage room in a prison building and cruelly beat her. Guard Chen Haixin handcuffed her hands behind her back, hung her up by the handcuffs, shocked her with an electric baton many times, stripped off her clothes, sealed her mouth with tape, deprived her of food and water, disallowed her to wash herself, disallowed her to sleep, limited her use of the toilet, and maliciously insulted her. She was forced to squat in a cold storage room for twenty-four hours and was not able to come back to a regular prison cell until mid-March. As a result of this torture, her whole body was covered with injuries. One of her arms was broken. She had difficulty moving her legs. Pus dripped down her neck for a long time. Her face was severely swollen and her whole body was covered with scars from electric shocks. Currently, guards Yu Chengshui and Chen Haixin have been transferred to another place. The new guards, Dong Jinfeng and Dai Jing, continue to torture her. Despite being persecuted so severely, she was still forced to work. If she refuses or is physically unable to work, she will be put into solitary confinement.

On April 9, when her family visited her, Li Fengmei told her family in front of the guards that all the guards in No.10 ward participated in persecuting her. They torture her by despicable means every night. They disallowed her to sleep and plotted to harm her. If she dies, then they must be responsible. Li Fengmei also exposed how she was persecuted to every inmate that she met. She said that she would surely survive with a strong will. On the same day, April 9, her family visited Liaoning Provincial Prison Management Bureau appealing office to appeal, but did not achieve any positive results. Her family is going to appeal on April 16 to the Liaoning Juridical Bureau and other offices.
