Exposing the Persecution of Practitioners at Gongzhuling Prison in Jilin Province

Sept. 16, 2007

(Clearwisdom.net) In June 2007, two hundred Falun Gong practitioners were transferred to Gongzhuling Prison from other prisons in Jilin Province. Lately, a large number of Falun Gong practitioners have been transferred there (the exact number is unknown). A person who visited his family member in prison said his family member was sentenced for two years. He served a one year sentence at a local prison, and he was recently transferred to the Gongzhuling Prison.

Gongzhuling Prison used to be called the Xingsheng Prison. It is located in the east suburb of Gongzhuling City, facing Industry Road. It was a big prison before, and after the CCP started to persecute Falun Gong, it has more than doubled in size. Before, only prisoners who were sentenced for more than ten years were detained there. It has become the base of the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in Jilin Province.

In 2006, many Falun Gong practitioners were transferred there to be persecuted. The methods of persecution are extremely brutal.

In April 2007, the prison police mandated that all visiting family members must show identification issued by the 610 Office proving that they are not Falun Gong practitioners. Police threaten that Falun Gong practitioners will be sent to a solitary confinement cell to be persecuted and they cannot be visited if their family members are found bringing them Master Li's articles.

We hope that people of conscience will help provide more information.
