Australia: MPs Demand a Halt to Crime of "Live Organ Harvesting"

Sept. 22, 2007 |   By Chen Xinning

(Clearwisdom.net) Senator Andrew Bartlett from the Australian Democratic Party spoke out again before the upcoming election, in support of the campaign to stop the crime of organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners in China.

At Mr. Bartlett's fundraising dinner on September 14, 2007, Mr. Phil Glendenning, the host, told the audience about the investigation report by David Matas and David Kilgour, and asked for support to help stop this crime of organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners. The dinner guests were very moved by the report.

Senator Bartlett is a very dedicated supporter of global human rights issues, and is also a member of the Coalition to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong (CIPFG).

The Democratic Party candidate, Don Sinnamon, said that he had heard of the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners on earlier occasions. He feels that it is everyone's duty to protect human rights. He said that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has been unspeakably cruel in persecuting Falun Gong and that the persecution is beyond human conscience and is disgusting.

Sinnamon said that he hoped the Australian government will use its influence on the global stage to help Falun Gong. He also said that although China is hosting the Olympics, it has not improved its human rights situation, but has even furthered its cruel persecution of Chinese people. This is against the sacred principles of the Olympics, of promoting peace and human rights.

Sinnamon said that though the persecution is happening far away in China, it does not mean that the Australian people need not care. He expressed his view that all people in the world need to help stop this persecution.
