The Chinese New Year Spectacular showcases dance dramas that bring to life myths and legends from ancient China, as well as folk dances displaying characteristics of different ethnicities. The audience had a refreshing and rare experience of Chinese culture within the two hour performance. A lady from Cedar Hill said, "It's really spectacular. I cherished every minute."

Ms. Jan McCleskey attended the show with her daughter Taylor, who is a high school student. Jan said that she had never seen anything like this before. She learned from watching the performance that Chinese dance has many forms of expression, and seems to be much more difficult than ballet. Taylor was pleased to have such an opportunity to learn about Chinese culture.

A Chinese couple who drove for about five hours from Oklahoma to attend the show said that it was well worth it. They said that they saw from the performance that Falun Gong practitioners conducted themselves in line with "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance," which they felt was remarkable.

Musician Jamal Mohamed, who teaches at the Meadows College of the Arts at Southern Methodist University (SMU), said that he had participated in musical performances in Hong Kong and Korea, and had some knowledge about China's Beijing Opera. He commended tonight's performance as being an authentic Chinese artistic performance.
