(Clearwisdom.net) Gong Maofu and Guo Jinrong are a couple from Beiguan Village, Mengyin County, Shandong Province who began practicing Falun Dafa in the Spring of 1999. They experienced tremendous improvement in their physical health after practicing Falun Dafa. In particular, Gong Maofu recovered from high blood pressure, headaches, cervical spondylosis.
But on July 20, 1999, Jiang's political regime started to attack Falun Dafa and cruelly persecute Gong Maofu and Gu Jinrong physically, mentally, and financially.
One day in February 2003, two people from Chengguan Town Police Station suddenly barged into their home. Seeing that Gong Maofu was not home, they sent Guo Jinrong to look for him. After a while, a group of people from the Mengyin Town 610 Office also came. Led by Zhang Yong, they searched their home and confiscated their property.
At about the same time, Gong Maofu was found and came back home. These people violently pulled his clothing, forcibly took away his cell phone and over six thousand yuan from his pocket. Then, they took away Master Li's picture, a picture explaining Falun Dafa exercises, Falun Dafa articles, and several copies of truth-clarifying pamphlets. They also took away Gong Maofu and Guo Jinrong.
These people again went to Gong Maofu's son's store and rampantly turned his store upside down. Gong Maofu's second son tried to reason things out with them and scolded them by asking what made it valid for them to casually disturb people's normal lives and businesses? Even knowing that this was true, it still made them angry. As they left, they threatened to beat him in the future.
After being taken to the county's 610 Office, Gong Maofu and Guo Jinrong suffered tremendously both physically and mentally. Because they refused to acknowledge that they had done anything wrong, Ms. Guo Jinrong was punched and and kicked by Wang Wei, from the 610 Office. Initially, Wang Wei violently kicked her with his hard leather shoes and knocked her down to the ground. Then with the excuse that she did not straighten her legs, Wang Wei again slapped her hard on her head and he did not stop until she passed out.
Afterwards, they forced the couple to watch videos slandering Falun Dafa and Falun Dafa's Teacher, and write so-called "exposing and criticizing articles." Only after twenty days later, and through their family's bribing responsible people and pulling some strings, were the couple released. Gong Maofu's family was extorted by the 610 Office for 12,000 yuan, causing the family to fall into financial difficulty.
Later the police often harassed and threatened them, and this once happy family is no longer at peace..
