(Clearwisdom.net) Zhang Yuexian of the 610 Office in Li County, Hebei Province, arrested and extorted money from many Falun Gong practitioners and their families and employers.

Zhang Yuexian first claimed, "On July 20, Falun Gong practitioners will go to Beijing or do something else in public." He proceeded to deceive practitioners' employers into talking to their practitioner employees. Then, Zhang Yuexian, police officers, and a cameraman suddenly broke in and took the practitioners away, leaving the leaders of the company still in the dark.

Zhang Yuexian planned to create conflicts between practitioners and their company leaders. After they took the practitioners away, they asked for 5,000 yuan from the company and two people to watch over them. Practitioners Mr. Xin in Liangju, Li County, and Mr. Zhu Xiaozhan in the Development and Reform Commission were arrested and taken to Xiaobailou Brainwashing Center in Baoding this way.

Mr. Zhu Xiaozhan is in his 60s and was detained in Baoding for two months during the busy farming season. His son, Zhu Junqiang, went to the Development and Reform Commission to demand his father's release, but the director of the Commission reported to the police and the 610 Office that Zhu Junqiang had threatened him. So Zhu Junqiang was monitored for many days. Zhang Yuexian also intended to arrest practitioners Ms. Zhao Limei and Ms. Gu Xiangrui in the Education Bureau. Since Ms. Zhao Limei had a heart attack every time Zhang came to arrest her, he came in an ambulance to arrest her this time. Ms. Zhao Limei indeed had a heart attack and lost consciousness. She was taken to the hospital. Zhang Yuexian forced her to give up her ID card. Zhang Yuexian forced and threatened leaders in different departments and townships in Li County to illegally take away practitioners' ID cards. Practitioners were monitored day and night, and their freedom was restricted. Many of their ID cards were taken away, and after two months, they still had not been returned. Their normal lives were disturbed, and their human rights were trampled.

On March 26, 2008, Zhang Yuexian and over 50 policemen arrested six practitioners who were studying Zhuan Falun, including three seniors in their 60s or 70s. He extorted over 20,000 yuan from their families. The police found a small bag with a pay card inside during the arrests. Zhang Yuexian threatened family members and extorted 5,000 yuan from them. He designated people to go to the home of one practitioner to try to force her to write a guarantee statement to denounce Falun Gong. Zhang Yuexian never gave a receipt when he extorted money. It is said that Zhang Yuexian once had to pay a lot of money to buy a director's position in the 610 Office and now he wants to take the money back from practitioners.

Practitioners Cui Xiaoxian, Cui Shumei, and Feng Wenzhen from Nanguan, Li County, were illegally arrested. In both trials, false testimony by policeman Wang Junchang was exposed by the defense attorney. The three practitioners should have been released immediately but were detained another year by Zhang Yuexian. In both trials, police from the national security team and the 610 Office all came with guns, on guard for all possible dangers. Immediate family members were the only ones allowed to attend the hearing concerning ID cards. Trials should be public, but Zhang Yuexian was frightened by three old women that believe in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. He limited the number of people in the hearing, designated police and people from the 610 Office to videotape people surrounding the court, and intended to persecute other practitioners with the tape.
