(Clearwisdom.net) Today's report relates persecution incidents that took place in 13 cities or counties in nine provinces. Fourteen Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to brutal mistreatment during detention, and at least eleven practitioners were arrested.

1. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Hu Dejuan Paralyzed Due to Torture
Agents from the Kuiwen Police Station in Weifang City arrested Ms. Hu Dejuan and put her in Wangcun Women's Forced Labor Camp in early 2008. She was tortured for more than 70 days until her legs were paralyzed and she could not take care of herself. The police were afraid being held responsible and ordered her family to take her home. Ms. Hu is now in her parents' home.
2. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Liu Suhong Harassed
The police broke into Ms. Liu Suhong's home in the Houjie Community in the Kuiwen District in Weifang City on October 23, 2008, in her absence. They confiscated her Falun Gong book and a picture of Master Li.
3. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Pan Sumei Arrested
Ms. Pan Sumei was arrested at 7:00 a.m. on October 21, 2008, when she went to work. The police ransacked her home and confiscated a computer, a printer, a CD burner, and cash.
4. [Anshan City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Bai Jie Arrested
A hygiene worker reported 63-year-old Ms. Bai Jie to the police on October 24, 2008, when she distributed Falun Gong truth-clarifying materials in the Mingda Residential Community. Personnel from the Mingda Police Station arrested her and put her in the No. 3 Detention Center.
5. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Three Practitioners Arrested
Personnel from the Chengxi Police Station in the Xindu District arrested Ms. Chen Xianying from the district and other two practitioners from another city on the night of October 24, 2008.

6. [Renqiu City, Hebei Province] Several Practitioners Facing Repeated Trials
Renqiu City Court agents held a trial for Mr. Guo Quansheng, Ms. Qu Shuzhen, and Mr. Jing Yuanming at 8:00 a.m. on October 24, 2008. The practitioners were handcuffed and shackled. The trial ended without a verdict.
It is heard that the practitioners will be tried again on the morning of October 30, 2008.

Renqiu City Court administrators Zhao Huaqing and Ma Zheng held a trial for 37-year-old Ms. Sun Meifen on the morning of October 22, 2008. Ms. Sun was handcuffed and shackled.

8. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] The Persecution of Ms. Shi Guifen and Ms. Liu Xia
Ms. Shi Guifen was sentenced to two years of forced labor and is now in Masanjia Forced Labor Camp. Her son went to visit her, but he was not allowed in.
We have information that Ms. Liu Xia was sentenced to three years of forced labor in the middle of October 2008. She is in Masanjia Forced Labor Camp.

Ms. Ye Dixian, who was held in the Qingyuan County Brainwashing Center, was released several days ago.
Two practitioners from the county who were put in a forced labor camp during the Olympic Games are Mr. Li Shuangquan from Beiduanzhaung Village, Lizhuang Township, held in Baoding Forced Labor Camp, and Ms. Wang Tongren from Ligezhuang Village, held in the Shijiazhuang City Women's Forced Labor Camp.

A teacher surnamed Yin from Shanghewan Town, Jiutai City, was arrested on October 23, 2008.

Mr. Gong Fengqiang has been held in the Jiamusi City Prison for one year and ten months. Eighteen months of torture caused him to have a mental breakdown. He does not recognize people and cannot speak.
16. [Xiaochang County, Hubei Province] Ms. Dai Fengxian Held in the Xiaochang County Detention Center
Officers from the Zhougang Police Station in Xiaochang County arrested Ms. Dai Fengxian from a clinic in Anlu City, Hubei Province, on July 25, 2008. She was taken to the county police station and then someone monitored her at her home later on. Two weeks later Ms. Dai was taken to a detention center and sentenced to forced labor on August 12, 2008. The forced labor camp officials refused to accept her, so she is still being held in the county detention center.
