Japanese Member of Parliament: "The Power of Awareness" Touched My Heart and Soul

Tokyo Parliament member Yoshida Kouichirou, who attended the Divine Performing Arts show last year, made a point to see the Chinese Spectacular this year. He said, "I came last year. I thought the stage was beautiful, and the colors of the costumes were brilliant and gorgeous. The Erhu and big drums were my favorite."

He continued, "I liked all the performances today. I was deeply impressed by the dance 'The Power of Awareness.' When the (Chinese Communist Party) authorities persecute the mother and her daughter, people around them could stand up and make a righteous choice. This scene left the deepest impression and touched my heart and soul."

Member of the House of Representatives Ichimura Kouichirou also attended the show last year, but he did not see the entire performance this time due to official business. He told the reporter after watching the first performance that it was wonderful. He commented on the beauty of the dance and backdrop and said that the way the background blended with the stage was very moving.

He said that he could feel the powerful energy emitted from these overseas Chinese performers. He said he hoped the Divine Performing Arts would present their show even more widely around the world.

Chairman of the Martial Arts Exchange Association Appreciated the Traditional Elements in the Show

The chairman of the Japanese Martial Arts Exchange Association said that he had seen the bowl dance performed by the Divine Performing Arts in previous years, and thought it was quite good. This was the first time for him to see the show in person. He said, "The show was very good, and exciting. The dances were particularly beautiful." He especially liked the dance "Drummers of the Tang Court."

He said that he would bring his Japanese students from the martial arts class to see the show if there was an opportunity in the future. He also said that he appreciated the many traditional elements presented in the show.

The chairman was adopted by his Chinese parents during World War II and returned to Japan 30 years ago. He began learning martial arts when he was young, and he founded the Japanese Martial Arts Exchange Association to popularize a form of Chinese boxing he learned in Japan.

Vice-president of CIPFG in Japan: I Was Deeply Impressed by the Exquisite Performance

Vice-president of the Coalition to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong (CIPFG) in Japan An Donggan said he was similarly deeply impressed by the wonderful show this year, as he was last year. He said that the performance that left the deepest impression on him was the one where two degenerate young men transformed after seeing the Buddhas and returned to the righteous path.

He said the performance concerning Falun Gong was very good, too. "Through dance dramas, people can learn that Falun Gong follows the principle of "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance," and that the evil Communist Party persecutes Falun Gong."

Mr. Donggan added, "If more people practice Falun Gong, the Chinese Communist Party won't be able do whatever it likes, and the world will be even more beautiful."

Audience Offers Rave Reviews Professor Bai Shanzhao from Daito Bunka University said the entire performance relayed an important message, that is, "What happiness is," and that happiness needs to be experienced and upheld by everyone. The professor also noticed that the performance showcased traditional culture in which men are strong and masculine and women are feminine and gentle. One audience member, who worked at a hospital, said the colors in the show were splendid. He said that this performance was completely different from the Chinese performances he had seen on TV. The Spectacular was powerful, particularly the drums. In addition, the female dancers' costumes were brilliantly dazzling and very appealing.

An older Chinese man from China, who is interested in Pingju Opera and Beijing Opera, said the Spectacular was very beautiful. He said he often went to Hong Kong when he was young to see performances similar to this show. This performance reminded him of his past experience.

A graduate student majoring in water conservation at the Central University said that the show was very traditional, presenting the beauty of Chinese culture. He said he had not seen anything as traditional for a long time.
