Taiwan: Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance Art Exhibition in Pingzhen City Showcases Purity and Harmony Between Heaven and Earth

Feb. 15, 2008

(Clearwisdom.net) On February 1, 2008, the Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance International Art Exhibition was displayed in the Educational and Culture Center of Pingzhen City, Taoyuan County, Taiwan. Mr. Chen Wande, mayor of Pingzhen City, attended the exhibit on the first day. He indicated that the whole exhibit represented the purest artistic concept of harmony between heaven and earth.

According to the sponsoring organization, these works of art were created by artists with different backgrounds and remarkable achievements. The artists expressed their experiences and their understanding of life using traditional drawing techniques displaying brightness, rightness and compassion. The exhibition displayed forty works. The artists revealed a creative path leading from Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance. Their works fully expressed the principle, "Good will be rewarded with good and evil will meet with retribution." The exhibition is composed of four parts:

Part 1: The Beauty of Self-Cultivation
Part 2: Uncompromising Courage
Part 3: The Call for Justice
Part 4: Justice Prevails

Also at the exhibition were dance performances, a string quartet formed by students of Pingxing Middle School, banners and drums by New Tang Dynasty TV Station, and waist drums played by young Falun Gong practitioners.

Mr. Liu Junyi, a congressman of Taoyuan County, delivered a speech and visited the exhibition. He said that the government should take the lead in promoting the exhibition, which transmits such compassionate information, so that the country can continue moving forward in a good way, and the nation's moral power will be promoted. He felt that the ideas the exhibit transmits, Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance, are the proper path. He also believes that even if we run into big difficulties, we can overcome them so long as we are compassionate. Even when lives are sacrificed, the body is just an outer form. Even if the outer form does not exist, compassion should exist.

Mr. Tian, a student from the Electrical Engineering Department of Mingxin Science and Technology University, said that he likes the realistic and delicate works. He said, "In the work Banner, the infant's apple-like and delicate complexion was expressed exquisitely. The characters on the banner look so realistic, almost as if they were photographed. In the work A Tragedy in China, even the light reflecting off of the woman's pants is drawn exquisitely. In the work In Harmony, I do not know how to describe the charm of the women sitting in meditation position, I just have the feeling of comfort."

Mr. Chen, who is a student working toward his degree at an institute, brought his children to visit the exhibit. After enjoying all the works, he said that he wished that everyone could have a warm family, that no one would suffer such misery again, and that all of society would improve. While pointing to some of the works, he said, "These paintings have quite positive implications. A person who sees this exhibit may transform their thoughts and in turn spread those thoughts to all of society and the country so that everyone becomes more kindhearted." He even discussed with the staff at the exhibit on how to help the persecuted Falun Gong practitioners in China. He said, "One person's power is negligible, but together, change can be made. Then we can transform the bad things." Since he has two children studying in elementary school, he had profound impressions of the work Homeless. He said that by getting in touch with this different world, the children would cherish their current situation."

The Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance Art Exhibition has been displayed in more than 40 counties and gained support and encouragement from all circles of society. The exhibit in Pingzhen County will be on display until February 28, 2008.
