On April 25, 2008, Falun Gong practitioners from West Australia held an activity in front of the Chinese Consulate to commemorate the ninth anniversary of the April 25^th Appeal, when tens of thousands of practitioners arrived at the central government compound in Beijing to ask the government for fair treatment. The government's response on July 20, 1999, was a full-scale persecution.

Practitioners distributed truth-clarifying materials and collected many signatures against the persecution.
