Sharing with School Age Practitioners and Their Parents

April 5, 2008 |   By a Falun Dafa practitioner from China

(Clearwisdom.net) After their winter school vacation, many young disciples resumed their busy study and cultivation schedules. Some of their parents, just like other parents, arranged music, dance and other classes for their children on the weekends. As a result, these young disciples, who have a hectic time in cultivation, do not have any time to relax the entire week. At the same time, these practitioner parents spend much time and energy dropping off and picking up their children. I want to share on this issue with you. Please point out anything inappropriate.

Through reading the book Zhuan Falun, we all know that an ordinary person's life has already been arranged. Only through cultivation practice can our life be altered. Our practitioner parents arrange for their children to spend too much time learning ordinary knowledge. Aren't our practitioner parents too attached to things like school grades or arranging their children's futures? If it is an attachment, their efforts cannot achieve the desired results. Some practitioners say that all the other parents arrange such classes for their children, so we should comply with the state of ordinary human society. I disagree with this opinion. Other people are strongly attached to their children's study results and future. We practitioners, however, should not be this way.

In addition, society views the weekend as a time to give people that have been busy all week an opportunity to rest and re-adjust. Excessive study will make the children tired and have a negative effect. In modern society, misguided by the Chinese Communist Party, people are all attached to money and students are attached to good grades. It is said that good grades are the student's sole hope of succeeding in this life. This emphasis gives people no time to consider life's true essence. As cultivators, we should not walk this path. This is an old force arrangement.

I feel that, as young disciples, we should let our supernormal abilities emerge in our studies, and study better. Otherwise, we should look within to see if we have attachments to things like playing and pursuing comfort. Our practitioner parents should make use of weekends to study the Fa more with young disciples and purge the polluted minds with the principles of "Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance," and grasp time to do the three things well.
