(Clearwisdom.net) A number of practitioners have recently been arrested in Jiaohe City, Jilin Province. The following is information about several cases of illegal arrest and persecution.

1. Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Wang Shuyuan, 58 years old, is a retired school teacher who taught advanced studies in Jiaohe City. On March 20, 2008, when she went out around at 8:00 in the evening, she was illegally arrested. At around 10:00 p.m., policemen from the Chang'an Street Police Station in Jiaohe City broke into Ms. Wang's home and confiscated several copies of the "Minghui Weekly". Ms. Wang Shuyuan is currently being detained at a detention center.
2. Mr. Liu Baochun, Approximately 40 years old, is the owner of Haier Computer Store in Jiaohe City. On March 21, when the police arrested Falun Gong practitioners Chang Guiyun and Lao Yuan, they suspected Liu Baochun had been in contact with the two. Therefore, Liu Baochun was beaten by policeman from the Chang'an Street Police Station. When they stopped beating him his body was covered in blood. The police shut down his computer store and then took Mr. Liu to a detention center where he is still being detained.
3. Mr. Zhang Guosheng, approximately 40 years old, is the owner of Shunda Furniture Store. At around 10:00 a.m. on March 25, he was arrested at his store by policemen from the Xinzhan Town Police Station. He is still being held at the police station.
4. Recently, Ms. Guo Shuqing and her son of the Jiaohe Coal Mine were arrested. Her son has since has been released, however, Ms. Guo is still being forced to remain in a detention center.
