1. [Mengyin County, Shandong Province] Mr. Xu Zhidong and Wife Taken into Custody, Family Denied Visitation
On April 7, 2008, officers of the Jiuzhai Township 610 Office in Mengyin County, the Jiuzhai Township Police Station, and the Mengyin County 610 Office suddenly arrived at Beimozhuang Village in Jiuzhai Town. The officers took Mr. Xu Zhidong and his wife Ms. Li Qiuhong into custody and searched their home. Mr. Xu is being held at the Mengyin County Detention Center and Ms. Li Qiuhong is held at the Yinan County Detention Center.
On April 8, Mr. Xu's family went to the Mengyin County Detention Center. Their request to meet Mr. Xu was rejected.
On April 22, Mr. Xu's family went to the Yinan County Detention Center. Their request to meet Ms. Li Qiuhong was also rejected.
Mr. Xu's one-year-old child is being temporarily cared for by Mr. Xu's elderly parents.

2. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Correction on Previous Report on the Situation of Mr. Sun Rulin
Mr. Sun Rulin, a practitioner from Daqing City, was taken into custody by the Wolitun Police Department on March 4, 2008. He was held in a small, dark room at the Daqing City No. 4 Detention Center. His family went to the detention center several times, but they were not allowed to meet with Mr. Sun.
Early in April 2008, Mr. Sun Rulin was unlawfully sentenced to two years of forced labor by the 610 Office Domestic Security Division, of the Daqing City Police Department and the Wolitun Police Department. The police transferred Mr. Sun to the Suihua Forced Labor Camp without notifying his family.
3. [Liaoning Province] Ms. Yang Zhaoying Transferred to Suizhong Hospital for Continued Abuse after Staging Hunger Strike
It has been reported that Ms. Yang Zhaoying, a practitioner in the Suizhong area, has been transferred from the Dalian Detention Center to the Suizhong Hospital. Ms. Yang remains on hunger strike. She is in poor physical condition and faces unlawful sentencing.

At around 10:00 p.m. on April 23, Ms. Huang Jing was taken from her home by officers from the Dongming Police Station. The officers took a computer and a printer. Ms. Huang is being held at the Caibei Building.

On March 14, 2008, Ms. Chen Xue, 37, a practitioner from Wuhan City, Hubei Province, went to Beijing on business. She was reported to the authorities while she practiced the Falun Gong exercises in a guest house in Beijing. She was taken to a brainwashing center in Beijing. Members of the Beijing 610 Office have been to Ms. Chen's work unit to harass them.

On March 31, 2008, Ms. Xu Daoxiu was taken into custody by officers from the Ziyanghu Police Station in the Wuchang area of Wuhan City. Ms. Xu is being held at the No. 1 Women's Detention Center in the Erzhigou area, Dongxihu District, Wuhan City.
7. [Benxi City, Liaoning Province] Several Practitioners Taken into Custody
On April 24, 2008, Ms. Liu Jie was working as a maid for a family with the surname Xu. Li Zhannan (male) and other police officers took her into custody. Ms. Cui Wenlan was taken into custody by the Benxi City Police Department. Ms. Ma Yulan and Ms. Jin Di were taken by officers from the Gongren Police Station. Ms. Yang Guizhi was also taken into police custody.
8. [Chongqing] Recent Situation of Mr. Xiong Guotai
On October 17, 2007, four police officers unlawfully searched Mr. Xiong Guotai's home and took him into custody. After five hours of unlawful interrogation, the police forced his family to pay 5,000 yuan in exchange for releasing Mr. Xiong on bail.
On March 25 and March 28, 2008, Mr. Xiong was unlawfully summoned for interrogation. He was sentenced to eighteen months of forced labor, starting on April 11, 2008. Mr. Xiong was to serve his term outside the labor camp due to high blood pressure and heart problems. He has been placed under supervision of Xiong Chaoyuan (male), an officer assigned from the Kai County No. 3 Police Station.

10. [Shandong Province] Practitioners Abused in a Brainwashing Center in Weifang City
Ms. Zheng, a practitioner from Kuiwen District, Weifang City, was deprived of sleep for three months at the Wangcun Forced Labor Camp, by the guards. The labor camp authorities prevented her from returning home a full year after her forced labor term had ended. Instead, they took her to a brainwashing center in Weifang City, where she was held for over twenty days. Ms. Zhang Guixiang is also being held at the brainwashing center.
11. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Practitioner Ms. Han Junjiu Taken into Custody
At around 3:30 p.m. on April 28, 2008, Ms. Han Junjiu, around 50 years old, who lives in Youjia Village in Ganjingzi District, Dalian City, along with another female practitioner, were distributing copies of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party in the Lizishan area. Officers from the Xinzhaizi Police Station took them into custody. At around 6:00 p.m., Ms. Han's daughter called Ms. Han on her cell phone. Police officers took the call and deceived her daughter into coming to the police station. The officers then searched Ms. Han's home and confiscated Falun Dafa books. On April 30, Ms. Han Junjiu was taken to a detention center.

12. [Shanghai] Ms. Qiu Xiaomin Taken into Custody
Ms. Qiu Xiaomin, 54, lives in Zhabei District, Shanghai. On the morning of April 29, 2008, six police officers from Zhabei District showed up and unlawfully searched her home. The officers did not find anything. but they nonetheless took Ms. Qiu into custody.

On around April 20, 2008, several practitioners, including Mr. Bao Weidong and his wife Ms. Fu Xin, were taken into custody by officers from the Jichangqian Police Station. Ms. Fu has been taken to a brainwashing center in Fushun City. Mr. Bao is being held at the Yaojia Detention Center. Mr. Zhao Wenjia and his wife, both of whom work at the airport, have also been taken into custody.

16. [Dengta City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Meng Guiqing Taken into Custody
On the morning of April 28, 2008, Ms. Meng Guiqing was reported to the police and taken into custody. Zhang Qicheng (male), a domestic security officer in Dengta City, Zhang Qingyi (male), an officer from the Dengta City Police Department, and other officers unlawfully searched Ms. Meng's home. Ms. Meng was transferred to the Liaoyang City Detention Center that same afternoon. Her present situation is not known.
17. [Lanzhou City, Gansu Province] Mr. Xu Jianping Taken to Gongjiawan Brainwashing Center
Mr. Xu Jianping, who is around 40 years old, had been missing for over a week since April 21, 2008. After much inquiry, his family learned that the police had taken him to the Gongjiawan Brainwashing Center.
Mr. Xu had been dismissed from his job by officials under the pressure from the 610 Office, for his determination in practicing Falun Dafa. He received a one-time payment and now has no source of income.
18. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Elderly Ms. Cai Yuzhen's Home Searched
At 7:30 a.m. on April 15, 2008, officers from the Yuexiu District Political and Judiciary Committee, the 610 Office, and the police department broke into 75-year-old practitioner Ms. Cai Yuzhen's home. The officers took a computer, a printer and an MP3 player. Ms. Cai felt dizzy while police were ransacking her home. She had to be hospitalized for four days due to high blood pressure.

Ms. Li Shiyan, born on July 12, 1968, is a practitioner who lives in the No. 12 Group in Lipingfang Section, Shigang Village, Bajilei Township, Nong'an County. On April 25, 2008, officers from the Bajilei Police Station arrested her at her home. Ms. Li is being held at the Nong'an County Detention Center.

At around 11:00 a.m. on April 30, 2008, a male practitioner in his sixties was unlawfully taken into custody by officers from the Yueyatang Police Station in Kunming City. He was said to have distributed truth-clarification materials.

On April 12, 2008, Ms. Zhao Min, an elderly practitioner in Xinmin City, was taken into custody while clarifying the truth on a train heading toward Hailar District in Hulunbeir City, Inner Mongolia from Dalian City, Liaoning Province. She is being unlawfully held at the Hailar Railroad Detention Center. Her family has been denied visits.

On August 1, 2007, practitioner Mr. Gao Mingxing was taken into custody by the Dandong City Domestic Security police. A hood was put over his head, he was restrained with a pair of handcuffs, and he was held in secret for over nine months. His whereabouts are unknown.
25. [Xishui County, Guizhou Province] Mistreatment of Mr. Wang Hongfa and Other Practitioners
In late December 2007, practitioners Mr. Wang Hongfa (in his forties), Mr. Zhang Kuntao (in his fifties), and Mr. Zhang's wife Ms. Yuan Zhensu (in her fifties) were taken into custody by officers of the Xishui County Police Department. It has been reported that a dozen practitioners have been investigated by the police. Mr. Wang Hongfa is said to be held at the Xishui County Detention Center facing a prison sentence. Mr. Zhang and his wife are facing forced labor terms.

28. [Henan Province] Ms. Cao Ailan and Daughter Taken into Custody
On the afternoon of April 28, 2008, Ms. Cao Ailan, in her fifties, was taken into custody by the Nanyang City police. Her daughter Ms. Zhang Mingfang, who works at the Nanyang City Commercial Bank, was taken into custody on April 24.
29. [Beihai City, Guangxi Zhuang Nationality Autonomous Region] Ms. Huang Qiying Taken into Custody
Ms. Huang Qiying, around 50 years old, lives in the Dushugen area of Beihai City. At around 3:00 p.m. on April 27, 2008, officers from the Haijiao Police Station in Beihai City took Ms. Huang to the Beihai City Police Department. She was taken to the No. 1 Detention Center after three hours of coercive interrogation.
At 10:00 a.m. on April 28, officers from the Haicheng District 610 Office broke into Ms. Huang Qiying's home. The officers searched her home, took a satellite television receiver, television, and other items.
30. [Yuyao City, Zhejiang Province] Ms. Huang Guidi, Ms. Song Guizhen and Ms. Qiu Huijun Unlawfully Sentenced to Prison
Ms. Huang Guidi has been unlawfully sentenced to four years in prison; Ms. Song Guizhen and Ms. Qiu Huijun have each been sentenced to three years in prison. Police took the three practitioners into custody in October 2007.
31. [Nan County, Hunan Province] Mr. Meng Fanrong's Home Unlawfully Searched
At around 10:00 a.m. on April 17, 2008, Zhang Jianzhong (male), Party secretary of the Jiudu Township Political and Judiciary Committee in Nan County, Li Guotian (male), of the 610 Office, He Buo'an (male), director of the police station, and three other officers arrived at Mr. Meng Farong's home in Xinyan Village. The officers took Falun Dafa books and copies of the "Minghui Weekly" magazines.
32. [Tonghua County, Jilin Province] Mr. Xu Hongjun on Hunger Strike
On the evening of April 23, 2008, the Tonghua County police took Mr. Xu Hongjun into custody at his home in Tonghua County, Tonghua City. The police searched his home and then his parents' home. Mr. Xu Hongjun is being held at the Tonghua County Detention Center. He has been on hunger strike since being taken into custody.

At 10:00 p.m. on April 29, 2008, Ms. Li Sujie, a practitioner who lives in Wangshanpu Village, Shishan Town, Linghai City, was taken into custody by the police at her home.

35. [Huludao City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Zhao Liang, Mr. Yang Jiangwei, and Mr. Huang Lizhong Face Prison Terms
The Huludao City Court is planning to sentence Mr. Zhao Liang, Mr. Yang Jiangwei, and Mr. Huang Lizhong to prison. Mr. Zhao has been on a hunger strike since he was taken into custody on February 25, 2008. His family was denied from meeting him a few days ago when they went to the detention center for a visit.

37. [Ning County, Gansu Province] Elderly Ms. Fan Juncao Taken into Custody a Fourth Time
Ms. Fan Juncao, 65, is a practitioner in Ning County. On April 21, 2008, Ms. Fan went to the Qingyang City Police Division to file an appeal demanding the release of Mr. Li Qinben, a practitioner unlawfully held in custody. Ms. Fan also gave an account of her three years of forced labor at the Gansu Province Women's Forced Labor Camp. Officers at the Qingyang City Police Division took her into custody. Ms. Fan is being held at the Ning County Detention Center. This is the fourth time she has been taken into custody.
38. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Several Practitioners Taken into Custody
On April 22, 2008, Ms. Wang Shaoqing, Ms. Wang Xueying, and Ms. Yin Shujing in the Sifangtuozi area of Zhenlai County, Changchun City were taken into custody by officers from the Baicheng City Police Department. Ms. Lu Daxin and her older sister Ms. Lu Airong were taken into custody at their home. In addition, Ms. Ren Lijie was also taken into custody.
On April 23, the police arrested a dozen or so practitioners at the Ouya Science and Technology Complex in Changchun City. One practitioner had just been released after the police extorted money from his family. All practitioners have been unlawfully sentenced to forced labor. Some terms are as long as three years.
On the morning of April 24, a female practitioner was taken into custody at the Science and Technology Complex on Changjiang Road in Changchun City by plainclothes police officers. In addition, the whereabouts of practitioners Xiaodi, Xiaoyan, Xiaoyu, and Ms. Zang are unknown.
39. [Manzhouli City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] Mr. Jiang Yuhui Taken to Forced Labor Camp
On April 29, 2008, Mr. Jiang Yuhui, an employee at the Fushoutang Pharmacy in Zhalainuor District, Manzhouli City, was taken to the Tumuji Forced Labor Camp. It has been reported that practitioners recently taken into custody have all been sent to the Tumuji Forced Labor Camp.
40. [Zhongshan City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Yang Zhongping and Three Other Practitioners Taken into Custody
On April 28, 2008, Mr. Yang Zhongping was taken into police custody again. In addition, a month ago people witnessed three practitioners being taken into custody by the police while distributing truth-clarification materials on Mazhou Street.
41. [Qian'an County, Jilin Province] Elderly Mr. Ma Guobao Cannot Take Care of Himself after Years of Abuse
Mr. Ma Guobao, almost 70 years old, is a practitioner in Qian'an County, Songyuan City. He had been taken into police custody several times and taken to forced labor camp twice. He was released on the verge of death after staying on a hunger strike during his custody. During the past few years, officers from the Domestic Security Division and the local police station have constantly harassed him at his home, taking Falun Dafa books and other materials. They also intimidated Mr. Ma and his family. Mr. Ma has developed symptoms of a stroke and can no longer take care of himself.
42. [Ningxiang County, Hunan Province] Ms. Jiang Ruihua Taken into Custody - Ms. Peng Liang's Husband Unlawfully Detained
At noon on April 18, 2008, police broke into Ms. Jiang Ruihua's home on the third floor of Building 3, Jiaoshi Village, Ningxiang County. The officers, from the police department and the State Security Department, arrived in two vehicles. They ransacked Ms. Jiang's home.
At around 11:00 p.m. on April 18, several police officers pried open the door of Ms. Peng Liang's home on the fifth floor of Building 3. Ms. Peng was not at home. The officers took a notebook computer and a desktop computer. Ms. Peng's husband, who was visiting from overseas, was asleep. The police detained him for 24 hours.

43. [Duchang County, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Hu Huoying Held in Custody for Over Two Months
Ms. Hu Huoying's whereabouts had remained unknown after she was taken into custody on February 29, 2008. After extensive inquiry, it was confirmed that she is being held at the Shilipu Detention Center in Jiujiang City. Ms. Hu faces an unlawful court hearing.

On April 4, 2008, Ms. Du Yuping was to be released from the Beijing Women's Prison. However, agents from the 610 Office took her directly to a brainwashing center located at the lodge of the Ministry of Nuclear Industries in the Bei'anhe area of Haidian District.

On the morning of April 29, 2008, the Zhaoyuan County Court in Daqing City held a secret hearing of Ms. Liu Yanxia. Ms. Liu stated that she could not recall what she said after being tortured in police custody. The judge did not issue a sentence. This was the first time her family had seen her after her arrest six months prior.
On October 9, 2007, Ms. Liu was taken to Daqing City. She was tortured as the police tried to extract information from her. Her hands were handcuffed behind her back. Her hair was pulled back and hot mustard was poured through her nose, which resulted in loss of consciousness.

47. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Ms. Sui Guizhen, Ms. Tong Yanhua, and Ms. Qu Xiulan Taken into Custody
At around 7:00 p.m. on April 23, two officers from the Longhua Police Station in Jilin City suddenly broke into practitioner Ms. Sui Guizhen's home. The officers searched her home, took a calendar and cassettes of Falun Gong exercise music, and forcibly took Ms. Gui and her family to the police station. The officers then searched Ms. Sui's home again and took photos of the founder of Falun Gong. Ms. Sui was unlawfully held at a detention center for five days.
At 7:00 p.m. on April 23, practitioner Ms. Tong Yanhua, 44, was taken to the Yushugou Police Station by Wang Quanyue (gender unknown) and other residential police officers. After midnight, the officers took Ms. Tong and her child to the Longtan Police Department, where no one took the case. Ms. Tong and her child were first taken back to the police station before being released. At 8:00 a.m. on April 24, the police went to Ms. Tong's workplace and took her to the police department. They issued an order to place her under fifteen days of detention. On the afternoon of April 28, the police issued a notice indicating she had been sentenced to one year of forced labor. Ms. Tong Yanhua refused to sign the notice.
On the morning of April 24, Ms. Qu Xiulan, a practitioner in Jilin City, was taken to the police department by officers of the Jiangmifeng Police Station, who deceived her. Ms. Qu was then transferred to the Jilin City Detention Center. Her father, who is in his eighties, and her two children have been left at home. Her husband is out of town. Her farmland has been left unattended.

At around 8:00 a.m. on April 21, 2008, eight or nine police officers suddenly broke into Ms. Wang Jiangmei's home. The officers took two laser printers, a DVD burner, a notebook computer and a large number of Falun Dafa books, materials, and DVDs. At around 11:00 a.m. Ms. Wang was taken to the Crime Response Unit at the Jintai Police Department. She is being held at the Huatai Guest House.
It has been reported that a dozen practitioners in Jintai District and a dozen in Weibin District have been taken into custody.
50. [Xianning City, Hubei Province] Additional Information on Mr. Chen Jianping and His Wife Ms. Chen Jingwen, Held in Custody
On April 12, 2008, Mr. Chen Jianpring and his wife Ms. Chen Jingwen gave someone a DVD of the 2008 Chinese New Year Spectacular and were turned in to the police. Liu Jun (male), a police officer, and several officers from the Xian'an District Domestic Security Division took the two practitioners into custody. Mr. Chen's clothes were torn during the illegal arrest. Mr. Chen and his wife were taken to the Xian'an District No. 1 Detention Center. Nine officers led by Jin Guoxing (male), head of the Xianning City Domestic Security Division, took Mr. Chen Jianping's key and searched his home while no one was there. The police took deposit receipts, cash, cellular phones, home appliances, and Falun Dafa books. Ms. Chen Jingwen has returned home. Mr. Chen Jianping remains in custody at the Xian'an District No. 1 Detention Center in Xianning City.

At around 10:00 a.m. on April 17, 2008, Ms. Wang Shuhua, a 54-year-old practitioner who lives in Xiangjiagou Village, Huahua Town, Zhucheng City, was taken into custody while she was clarifying the truth. Officers from the Huanghua Police Station took the 180 yuan in cash Ms. Wang had, her keys, her electric bicycle, and her helmet. She has been held at the Zhucheng City Detention Center. Her husband got her personal items back a few days ago.

54. [Mudanjiang City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Li Cuilan, Ms. Yao Shuqin and Ms. Zhang Huilan Taken into Custody in November 2007
On November 16, 2007, Ms. Li Cuilan, Ms. Yao Shuqin and Ms. Zhang Huilan were studying the Fa at Ms. Li's home when Chen Liang (male) and four other officers from the Aimin District Domestic Security Division took the three practitioners into custody. The police took Falun Dafa books, DVDs and cassettes, and a portrait of the founder of Falun Gong. When Ms. Li Cuilan's son and Ms. Yao Shuqin's daughter went to ask for the release of the practitioners, and the police extorted 5,000 yuan from each.

56. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Persecution Escalated in Hulan Prison, Harbin City
Officials at the Hulan Prison in Harbin City have escalated the persecution prior to the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. Since April 7, 2008, the prison authorities have prohibited practitioners' families from sending in any items, and practitioners have been prohibited from any outside contact. Their cells and bodies are often arbitrarily searched.
Practitioner Mr. Zhang Bingchen, who is being held at the No. 10 Division, has been taken to a small isolcation cell, after the prison guards found out that he had a Falun Dafa book. Mr. Yang Ming, who is in the No. 7 Division and refused to participate in forced labor, was viciously beaten by inmates following orders from the prison guards. Mr. Yang has been on a hunger strike to protest the beatings.
57. [Qingyun County, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhan Yanhua Remains in Custody at Leling City Detention Center
Ms. Zhang Yanhua remains in custody at the Leling City Detention Center. The police have threatened to take Ms. Zhang to a forced labor camp or otherwise.

On April 28, 2008, Ms. Liu Yueying was arrested at her home by Zhang Weijie (male) and Wang Jianqing (male) from the Leling City 610 Office. Zhang and Wang also confiscated Falun Dafa books.
59. [Laixi City, Shandong Province] Ms. Liu Xihua Taken into Custody
On April 22, 2008, Ms. Liu Xihua, a practitioner in her sixties who lives in Malianzhuang Township in Laixi City, was taken into custody by the local police while clarifying the truth in the Xiadian area in Zhaoyuan County. Ms. Liu is being held at the Linglong Brainwashing Center in Zhaoyuan City, Shandong Province.

On the afternoon of April 25, 2008, Ms. Liu Chunzhi and Mr. Zhang Gong, who live in the Xuanhua area of Zhangjiakou City, went to Bakou Village in Pangjiabao Town, Xuanhua District to clarify the truth. They were reported to Bakou Village Party Secretary Xu Xiongfei (male). Xu took the two practitioners to the Baimiao Police Station. The two are now detained at the Xuanhua Detention Center on criminal charges.

62. [Hebei Province] Unlawful Acts by Qianxi County 610 Office, Police and Residential Committees
In March 2008, the Qianxi County 610 Office and the police and local residential committees have escalated the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. Officials in each village and residential community have sent out people looking for any new truth-clarification materials posted. At the same time, they have people staked out to keep an eye on specific practitioners.
In early April 2008, officers from the Jiucheng Township Police Station in Qianxi County went to harass Mr. Tang Baoyi at his home in Benxiang Town. He Liansuo (male) and other officers from the Chezhan Police Station forced the landlord to open Mr. Lu Zuojin's room while Mr. Lu was not at home. They did not find anything. Two practitioners, while posting truth-clarification materials, spotted a police parked inconspicuously with six plainclothes police officers in it.
On April 22-23, the police searched the homes of Ms. Wang Chunying, Mr. Zhao Qidong, a practitioner with the surname Tian, and several other practitioners. Officers from the Chengguan Police Station made the false claim that they were examining real estate paperwork to take note of practitioners' residential ID number and to find out whether they had personal computers.
63. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Four Practitioners Taken into Custody
At around 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. on April 25, 2008, a dozen police vehicles arrived at a building between the Binnan area and the Dafangli area in Daowai District, Harbin City. The police took four practitioners from the building into a police car. The practitioners shouted, "Falun Dafa is great!" while confronting the officers regarding on what grounds they were being taken into custody. Pedestrians stopped and gathered to watch.
64. [Guangdong Province] Shantou City Officials Use Excuse of the Olympics Games to Harass Practitioners
On around April 29, 2008, officials in Shantou City searched the home of each practitioner on file. They took pictures at practitioners' homes and examined whether they had installed satellite TV receivers.
