(Clearwisdom.net) On Sunday, June 1, 2008, people in Helsinki ushered in the 12th Métis River Festival on the banks of the Métis. Falun Gong practitioners set up a booth, hung up a banner worded "Falun Gong Is Good," displayed exhibition boards introducing Falun Gong, and distributed beautiful folded paper lotus flowers as a special holiday gift to the Finnish people.

It was a sunny day and almost everyone was in summer attire. Many were fishing on both banks of the Métis River, enjoying the gifts of nature, while others were either sitting watching the performances in front of the stage or enjoying snacks and buying crafts. Children were playing and laughing at all venues.
Two boys aged about 15 or 16 were first interested in the folded paper lotus flowers and then read the exhibition boards. After hearing a practitioner explain the facts, they signed the petition against the persecution.
Many people approached the Falun Gong booth. Some read the exhibition boards, some appreciated the ease of the exercises demonstrated by the practitioners, and others started to learn them. The lotus flowers attracted many to the Falun Gong booth. While distributing leaflets and presenting lotus flowers, the practitioners explained what Falun Gong is, how Falun Gong is widely spread throughout the world, and the truth about the nine-year persecution by the evil CCP. They asked the public to sign the petition to end the persecution.
