(Clearwisdom.net) On June 21, 2008 in Samorin, a city in Slovakia, we held a petition campaign for the human rights of Falun Gong practitioners persecuted by the Chinese Communist regime.
Passersby were at first shy and asked practitioners, "What is Falun Gong?" An elderly lady, who listened to our story, said, "I understand. I was detained in a concentration camp in Germany for five years, I am eighty-five years old now. Such things shouldn't happen." Then she signed our petition and urged other people around her to do the same. Some followed her example.
A middle-aged man said after signing the petition, "Everybody should be free to believe in whatever he chooses, nobody should restrain him."
A reporter from a local newspaper came to the gathering. As he listened to the story of the persecution, he took pictures of practitioners performing the five sets of Falun Gong exercises.
We gathered more than fifty signatures on our petition and some people
expressed a hope that the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China would
end soon.
