A Reminder to Fellow Practitioners to Remain Calm, Reasonable, and Compassionate

June 3, 2008 |   By Ru Yi

(Clearwisdom.net) After the massive earthquake in Sichuan Province, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) attempted to use the natural disaster to divert people's attention and stir up hatred of Falun Gong practitioners, so it framed and put the blame on Falun Gong. I can understand the pain and the urgency that practitioners have felt as a result of the earthquake. However, I must remind my fellow practitioners not to have attachments to time or to sadness and the sentiments of everyday people. Saving people is most important. If we want to save more people, we must remain calm and reasonable.

Aren't the feelings and emotions triggered by the earthquake human sentiments? I want to remind my fellow practitioners to remain clear minded and be more reasonable. We should not provide any excuse that the evil forces can hold against us. At the last stage, we must cherish even more every opportunity to save sentient beings.

At this moment, many sentient beings have begun to awaken and are willing to get closer to us, therefore, we must set strict standards for what we say and do. We must not be viewed as taking satisfaction from this disaster. We should also not be overly excited or worried. When we use extreme words and deeds or talk about things at too high a level, that will actually push people away. After all, the extent to which today's people believe in Gods is very limited. If they are pushed away, it is very difficult for them to have another opportunity.

We must maintain a calm demeanor and be reasonable, kind, and compassionate in order to be closer to sentient beings. In this way, sentient beings will see that we are good people that can be trusted, and it will be easy for them accept what we say or our kind advice. Staying low-key and being calm gives people a sense of safety. Of cause, everyone knows the importance of protecting their lives.

"Dafa practitioners suffer tribulation. Sentient beings suffer annihilation." At a time when sentient beings urgently need salvation we, as practitioners, must pay more attention to our safety. We must guard against not being clear minded and not paying attention to our safety when we feel overly excited. It is not an issue of fear, but the responsibility for saving more sentient beings, which is our true compassion.

Recently the CCP has been jumping up and down hysterically to make trouble both at home and abroad. This will only accelerate its downfall and further arouse the people's hatred. This gives us more good opportunities to clarify the truth. At the same time I also hope that we practitioners can look inward and check if there is anything that we haven't done well or that could be an excuse for the evil forces to take advantage of. We must let go of whenever we find. Only in this way will we be able to save more sentient beings. As for practitioners, nothing is accidental. Please let us all look inward!

Teacher said,

"Without 'nothing,' it is a human feeling. If it is a human feeling, then it's not bei (compassion)." ("Teaching the Fa at the 2004 Western U.S. Fa Conference")

I've sensed that some practitioners are overly excited and hotheaded, so I wanted to pour some cold water on the situation. I think that, after all, we are practitioners walking on the path toward Godhood. Whenever we are moved, it means we still have a human heart even as we must meet the requirements of higher Fa principles.

Please kindly help me understand any shortcomings I may have.
