Mr. Yang Weihua Dies in Harbin City as Result of Being Tortured in Changlinzi Forced Labor Camp

June 30, 2008

(Clearwisdom.net) Mr. Yang Weihua, 35, lived in Yongxing Village, Hulan District in Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province. He began cultivating Falun Dafa in 1996, and the practice benefited him both physically and spiritually. He was arrested and detained three times in the past nine years.

On April 3, 2003, officers from the Heping Police Station arrested him and detained him for three months in the Hulan District Detention Center. They then had him sentenced to three years of forced labor and took him to Changlinzi Forced Labor Camp in Harbin City.

On June 27, 2003, Mr. Yang and ten other practitioners entered the Fifth Ward of Changlinzi Labor Camp. Guard Zhao Shuang (male) led a group of assistants to shock all the practitioners who were not ill according to their entrance physical with electric batons for three hours.

Mr. Yang was subjected to inhuman torture in the Fifth Ward. Guards Zhao Shuang, Qiang Shengguo, and Wang Kai (all male) tortured practitioners by almost suffocating them with plastic bags, shocking them with electric batons, brutally beating them, locking them in a Small Cell (1), etc. Mr. Yang was released early when he was no longer able to take care of himself as a result of being so brutally tortured. He often suffered symptoms of high blood pressure and kidney problems due to being cruelly beaten. After being released, his health worsened and he was in critical condition several times. He died on June 5, 2008.

Note:

(1) Small Cell - The detainee is confined alone in a very small cell. The guards handcuff the practitioner behind his back in a fixed position, so that he can neither move nor lie down. The small cell is very damp and no sunshine comes in. A bucket in the cell serves as a toilet. Only half of a regular meal is served each day. During the night, rats roam the cell. The stench in the small cell is so bad that it is difficult to breathe.
