Eliminating the Gaps Among Practitioners to Truly Form One Body

June 5, 2008 |   By an overseas practitioner

(Clearwisdom.net) Some time ago I had some conflicts with a fellow practitioner. Comparing the practitioner's attitudes before and after I improved my xinxing gave me a deeper understanding of the importance of taking the Fa as Teacher and looking inside during such conflicts.

I had pointed out something I thought inappropriate in the project team I belonged to. The practitioner in charge of the project was not happy about it and raised an objection. A few days later, when I mentioned the same issue again, the practitioner became angry and argued with me. We exchanged opinions but the atmosphere was still tense. I later thought to myself, "Why is this practitioner's xinxing so poor? He doesn't look like a cultivator. He is not worthy of participating in this sacred, truth-clarification project," and other such thoughts. Given an opportunity, I even wanted to discuss his xinxing with other practitioners and I gradually developed negative thoughts about the practitioner.

I managed to raise my xinxing after some time, and could gradually let go of the conflict. I was no longer so concerned about the practitioner's xinxing and looked at the practitioner from another angle. I realized anyone who could embrace Dafa and become a Dafa practitioner is a magnificent being. Studying the Fa made me realize that a cultivator is already magnificent for doing Dafa work. Those beings who place hope in Fa-rectification and risk their lives to come to Earth are precious, as are those who have obtained the Fa and contribute selflessly in saving sentient beings and clarifying the truth. Once I thought about it like that, my mind opened up and my bad thoughts toward the practitioner disappeared.

Miraculously, after my new thoughts had emerged, when I raised questions in the project team, the practitioner in question took the initiative to answer my questions. We conversed as if nothing had happened.

This is what I realized: when we were in conflicts and I harbored bad thoughts toward him, a gap formed between us in another dimension. Once my xinxing improved and I treated him with compassion, the other-dimensional gap shattered automatically, and we were able to once again converse in this dimension.

The incident made me further realize that when conflicts occur among practitioners, and when we don't look inside and raise our xinxing levels according to Master's words, we will most likely follow the old forces' arrangements and conflicts will intensify. When this happens, and we do not enlighten on the Fa, and have certain opinions about other practitioners, the old forces will capitalize on it. This makes the situation worse, to the point where practitioners complain about each other, exclude each other, are uncooperative, or some practitioners even form another group, making Dafa practitioners unable to function as one body in this or other dimensions. This in turn greatly hinders the whole body from advancing, and impacts efforts to save sentient beings. Therefore, when conflicts arise, we should correct our every thought.

From another angle, we should not treat others badly when they treat us badly. Master said,

"Nowadays people consider emotion really important, yet emotion is one of the most unreliable things. 'When you're nice to me I'm happy, and when you're no longer nice to me the feeling is gone.' Then how could you count on that thing?" ("Teaching the Fa at the Meeting with Asia-Pacific Students")

Dafa practitioners are compassionate. We should not change our compassionate attitude towards others when they treat us badly because gods are eternally compassionate.

The above is my limited understanding. Please correct anything inappropriate.
