Strengthening Righteous Thoughts

June 5, 2008 |   By a practitioner in China

(Clearwisdom.net) Recently, the Minghui website (Chinese version of Clearwisdom.net) reported that more and more Chinese practitioners are being persecuted. I feel sad reading this news. As a veteran practitioner who has been practicing for over ten years, I fully understand that cultivation is not easy. I have some enlightening that I'd like to share with my fellow practitioners. Please kindly point out anything incorrect.

Previously, whenever I heard police sirens, I became very nervous. I studied the Fa but could not enlighten to anything. Then I started working on Fa-validation activities, such as collecting telephone numbers (to send truth-clarification text messages) and mailing out truth clarifying letters. After that when I studied the Fa, I could enlighten to Fa principles, and my righteous thoughts became stronger.

I work full-time and don't have a lot of spare time. When I'm on my way to work, returning home after work, or when I go out on business, I send forth righteous thoughts: "Eliminate all evil spirits and demons in other dimensions; let all kindhearted and predestined people know the truth about Dafa and read the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party; let all evil people receive their retribution." After some time, I felt that my thoughts became purer. I'm now no longer always immersed in thoughts unrelated to cultivation. My righteous thoughts have become stronger. Oftentimes, I can keep a clear head in my everyday life, even though I face a world that is full of temptation and illusion. I keep in mind that I am a Falun Dafa practitioner, a person walking on the path to divinity.

Now when I encounter something or hear certain news, most times I do not think or act like a non-practitioner. I deal with the matter using a practitioner's thought processes and criteria for judgment. Sometimes when I didn't know how to handle certain things, I thought: "I don't recognize the old forces' arrangements. Even if they give me what non-practitioners would consider good things, I still don't want them. I only listen to Teacher and walk on the path Teacher has arranged for me." After thinking this way, things would happen according to Teacher's arrangement. I've realized that a practitioner's thoughts are very important. For example, I pass by a Street Administration Office (a government administrative unit used by the CCP to monitor and control people) on my way to work. Every day, I sent forth righteous thoughts towards it. Not long after I started doing this, the office moved away--the bad stuff in other dimensions was afraid of a practitioner's righteous thoughts and dared not stay in the old place.

Teacher taught us in Lecture 9 of Zhuan Falun:

"It does not matter if an everyday person gets involved in the affairs of everyday people, as he or she will apply the principles of everyday people to size things up. You must use the supernormal principles to look at things."

When we carry out Fa-validation activities, do we consider ourselves divine beings with divine power that are engaged in saving people, or do we just think of ourselves as practitioners distributing truth-clarification flyers and doing things? Are our thoughts in the divine realm or the human realm? Bad people only dare to arrest human beings. They dare not and cannot touch divine beings. When they try to do bad deeds and interfere with practitioners' lives and cultivation, do you think, "As a Dafa practitioner, I'm doing the most divine and most valuable things and I'm protected by Falun and Teacher, bad people dare not come close to me," or are you afraid of the persecutors because you practice Falun Gong and you're distributing truth-clarification flyers. Teacher told us in Lecture 4 of Zhuan Falun:

"...good or evil comes from a person's spontaneous thought, and the thought at that moment can bring about different consequences."

I have a suggestion for practitioners and coordinators working at the materials production sites. When we do things, we need to think of the many practitioners who obtain materials from the site. We need to always rectify ourselves, study the Fa diligently, and strengthen our righteous thoughts. We should not delay fellow practitioners' cultivation due to our own carelessness.

In cultivation, we need to have "Golden Eyes" like Sun Wukong, we need to be steadfast in our cultivation like Tang Seng, we need to have solid characters like Sha Seng, and we should not be easily swayed like Zhu Bajie.

Sun Wukong, Tang Seng, Sha Seng, and Zhu Bajie are the four main characters in Journey to the West, and "Golden Eyes" refers to the Monkey King, Sun Wukong's refinement of his own eyes into "Golden Eyes," possessed of many supernormal abilities. One of them is to see the true nature of an object. It was said that no demon could deceive Sun Wukong with any disguise because he had these eyes.
