Police in Laizhou City Take Practitioner's Daughter Hostage

July 13, 2008

(Clearwisdom.net) Police from Laizhou City, Shandong Province, ransacked and burglarized Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Su Jing'ai's home on June 18, 2008. Ms. Su escaped arrest at the time. Her daughter, Zhenzhen, 23, was supposed to go back to school, but the police took her away and detained her in the Laizhou City Detention Center.

At 10:30 a.m. on June 18, four to five police officers from the Hepinglidian Town Police Station in Laizhou City drove a car to Sujia Village to find Ms. Su. She was in the field harvesting wheat and not at home at the time. The village chairman went to the field to inform Ms. Su that someone was waiting for her at home, so she went home with her daughter. Ms. Su escaped when she saw the police at the door of her home. When her daughter got to the house, the police followed her and started ransacking their home, taking away a printer, notebook computer, a DVD burner, DVD's, papers, truth-clarification materials, Falun Dafa books, and over 6,000 yuan, which Ms. Su had earned from selling strawberries and other produce. They also took away a telephone address book, her daughter's cell phone, and an MP3 player. They later sent for another car along with four or five more people to help load the items they had confiscated. A total of a dozen people went to Ms. Su's home.

After they finished ransacking the house, the perpetrators waited for Ms. Su to return home. They went to the field, but they did not find her there. They waited until 12:30 p.m. When she still did not return home, they then took Ms. Su's daughter, who is a non-practitioner, away with them. While ransacking their home, the police intimidated Ms. Su's daughter and 80-year-old mother. Her mother was so frightened that she couldn't stand or sit steadily. Her hands kept shaking, and finally she had to lie down on the floor for fear of falling. When the police left they wanted to take the mother with them also. However, another policeman suggested that they should leave the mother at home to wait for Ms. Su, and that they should let the daughter go and detain Ms. Su instead, once she returned home. The family's home was a mess after the police ransacked it. Ms. Su's brother had given their mother some money for living expenses, which the police also confiscated. The whereabouts of Ms. Su is still unknown.

Ms. Su's daughter, Zhenzhen may have been detained in the Laizhou City Detention Center. Zhenzhen is 23 years old and is about to graduate from college. However, now she can no longer attend school. She should be allowed to go back to school.

Ms. Su was divorced when she was in her 30s. She has had to take care of her daughter and mother and has lived a very difficult life. Before practicing Falun Dafa, Ms. Su and her mother were in poor health and had been taking medicine for a long time. After practicing Falun Dafa, they became healthy and they followed the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance in everything they did. The villagers all consider the family to be good people
