The National Taitung Living Arts Center is a focal point for artistic and cultural activities in Taitung. The Center and the Taiwan Falun Dafa Association sent out invitation cards, inviting guests to the exhibition. During the opening ceremony, local politicians, people from local businesses and the the arts, doctors, and law enforcement personnel showed up. During the solemn occasion, the stories behind the paintings were explained.

Many people became familiar with the beauty of Falun Dafa through the activity and learned about the severe persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners in China. Many signed the petition calling for an end to the persecution. A man from out of town, Mr. Dai, carefully viewed every painting and expressed his willingness to help spread the truth about the persecution.

Junior high school principal: The persecution is a state-sanctioned crime

Mr. Yang, a retired principal of a junior high school, pointed at a painting that depicted practitioners getting beaten and said, "They are wearing uniforms--aren't they police officers? This is a state-sanctioned crime." He believes that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) cannot change its evil nature and that having close contact with the CCP is a dangerous thing to do.

Ms. Huang, an elementary school teacher, said that the paintings really made an impression on her and that she was struck by the stark contrast between the steadfast and compassionate Falun Gong practitioners and the evil CCP. Ms. Lin, a friend of Ms. Huang's, said she felt the power of righteous thoughts of Falun Gong practitioners could fend off all the evil.

The last day, when the paintings were taken down, a family came all the way from Changbin Township. They had heard about the exhibition from a poster and were deeply impressed. They left with many truth clarification materials.

Those in charge of the National Taitung Living Arts Center told Falun Gong practitioners that the paintings in the exhibition were magnificent and beautiful. They invited the practitioners to come back next year. The exhibition will now go to Ping-tung on its tour of Taiwan.
