Photos of a Prison Where Practitioners Are Brutally Tortured (Wumaping Prison, Leshan City, Sichuan Province) (Photos)

Aug. 21, 2008

(Clearwisdom.net) I traveled over 500 kilometers on a journey lasting 18 hours and captured photos of Wumaping Prison in Leshan City, Sichuan Province. Of special note is the first photo. It shows practitioners being forced to stand facing a wall in the blistering sun. This is a common form of torture, where practitioners are forced to stand for very long periods of time, and are beaten if they move or even flinch.

The prison established a "Strict Control" area, also called the Fourth Section. This two-story building was constructed in a courtyard shape. Some practitioners in the Fourth Section have been brutally tortured.

All the prisoners who want to see their family must be led by the prison guards through an underground passageway barred by a steel door.

In Qingxi Town, Jianwei County, Leshan City, Sichuan Province, there is a luxury high-rise building occupied by the Wumaping Prison Administrative Committee. The locals live in shabby houses along the highway leading from the town to the Wumaping Prison. Any relative who wishes to visit a practitioner jailed in Wumaping Prison must get a permit here.

On the way from Qingxi Town to Wumaping Prison, there is a brick factory to the right of the highway. This is the Third Section of Wumaping Prison. The CCP police use the illegally imprisoned prisoners to make large profits. According to practitioners who have escaped from the prison, the torture methods used here are intolerably cruel.

The smoky area is the factory

The locals do not know how many sections there are in the Wumaping Prison. Along the highway is the Third Section. It leads straight to the front entrance of the Wumaping Prison.

The distance between Wumaping and the county center is over 20 kilometers. The land area is about 30 square kilometers, situated between Muchuan County and Jianwei County. The highest point is 1300 meters above sea level. A labor camp was built here in 1955 and the Wumaping Prison was built in 1966. The front entrance is constructed at the foot of a hillside. There are almost no inhabitants on the slope behind, but there is tea plantation. There are barracks for armed police further up the slope.

The Fourth Section of Wumaping Prison is close to the barracks. This is a two-story building with lodging and office space for prison management. The front entrance of the building faces a cliff. A jail is being built in this area.

The four corners of the prison building have watchtowers manned with armed guards.

The Fifth Section of Wumaping Prison is also built as a courtyard. In the photo below, the building on the right is the main office building. The roof has communication antennas. The buildings behind the office, against the hillside, are all jails. Practitioner Zheng Bin and the others are imprisoned here.

The Sixth Section of Wumaping Prison is less than 100 meters from the Fifth Section. Conditions in the Sixth Section is also very severe and the guards often monitor people close to the front entrance.

The building hidden by the trees is the Wumaping Prison Hospital. Practitioner Jiang Yunhong and others are persecuted on the first floor near this hospital.
