(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 43 cities and counties in 11 provinces. In this report, 16 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention and at least 96 practitioners were illegally arrested.
1. [Yushu City, Jilin Province] Ms. Wang Xufang and Three More Practitioners Illegally Sentenced to Prison Terms
On July 23, 2008, Ms. Wang Xufang, Ms. Gao Yanxia, Ms. Fan Xiuzhen and Ms. Lu Guirong were illegally sentenced by the Yushu Municipal Court, Jilin Province. At 2:00 p.m. on August 7, Ms. Wang Xufang and Ms. Gao Yanxia were sentenced to a four-year prison term. Ms. Fan Xiuzhen and Ms. Lu Guirong were sentenced to a three-year prison term.
2. [Chaoyang County, Liaoning Province] Ms. Li Jiechun and Mr. Li Tianlin Arrested
On August 8, 2008, Ms. Li Jiechun and Mr. Li Tianlin, husband and wife from Qidaoquanzi Village, Chaoyang City, were arrested.
3. [Huangmei County, Hubei Province] Mr. Du Ziguo Arrested
On May 30, 2008, police from the Huangmei County Police Station arrested Mr. Du Ziguo, a practitioner who worked in Huangmei County. The police ransacked his home and confiscated cash and a debit card valued at 40,000 yuan, a laptop, two desktop computers, a printer, fax machine, Falun Dafa books, and other materials. Mr. Du Ziguo is now in the Huangmei County Detention Center.
4. [Yushu City, Jilin Province] Ms. Hu Lili Arrested
On August 8, 2008, Ms. Hu Lili was arrested at Construction Street Square.
5. [Jin City, Hunan Province] Mr. Zheng Mingli Arrested
In July, 2008, police arrested Mr. Zheng Mingli, a practitioner from Xinzhou Town, Jin City.
6. [Yichang City, Hubei Province] Ms. Jiang Guofang Arrested
On August 8, 2008, police arrested Ms. Jiang Guofang, a practitioner from Yichang City.
7. [Jinan, Shandong Province] Mr. Wang Hongzhang Arrested
In the morning on August 5, police from the Baoshan Police Station in Jinan arrested Mr. Wang Hongzhang, a practitioner from Jinan. They confiscated his computers, television, DVD recorder, disks, and other items.
8. [Linyi, Shandong Province] Mr. Liu Yongjin Illegally Sentenced
Mr. Liu Yongjin was "illegally sentenced" to a seven-year prison term. He is imprisoned in the No. 5 Group, Tai'an Prison.
9. [Jinzhou, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhang Yingling Arrested
At around 8:00 p.m. on August 4, 2008, Ms. Zhang Yingling was arrested near Xikezhan, the West Inn, while she was producing truth-clarifying materials about the persecution of Falun Gong.
10. [Qianguo County, Jilin Province] Mr. Liu Hongyao and Five Other Practitioners Arrested
On July 11, 2008, Mr. Liu Hongyao and his wife, Mr. Ren Linchen, Mr. Ren Linbo, Mr. Ren Laiyi, 75, Mr. Ren Linchen's father, and Mr. Wang Shenbo, all practitioners from Taohaotai Village, Qianguo County, were arrested.
11. [Jilin Province] Ms. Xu Jinglin Arrested
On August 9, 2008, patrol police the from Domestic Security Division arrested Ms. Xu Jinglin, a practitioner from Changyi District, Jilin City, while she was clarifying the truth about the persecution of Falun Gong.
12. [Dandong City, Shandong Province] Mr. Li Chuanliang Arrested
On July 25, police officers from the Dongjiantou Police Station, Shandong City, arrested Mr. Li Chuanliang, 78, a practitioner from Wudaoqiao, Dandong City. He is now "illegally detained" in the Dandong City Detention Center

13. [Anshan, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhang Wenju Arrested
At around 8:00 p.m. on August 6, Ms. Zhang Wenju, a practitioner from Anshan, was arrested at her home in Ertaizi. Her home was ransacked. She is now in the No. 1 Detention Center.
14. [Yushu City, Jilin Province] Ms. Wang Fengjuan Sentenced to Forced Labor
Ms. Wang Fengjuan, a practitioner from Yushu City, was arrested on June 10, 2008, in Kunming City, Yunnan Province. She was sentenced to three years of forced labor. She is now in Group 3, Dabanqiao Women's Labor Camp, Kunming City, Yunnan Province.
15. [Hegang City, Heilongjiang Province] More Than Ten Practitioners Arrested
Since July 6, 2008, officers from the Xing'an Police Bureau, Xinjianlu Police Station, and Xing'anlu Police Station in Hegang City have arrested practitioners and confiscated their Falun Dafa books, computers, printers, DVD burners, MP3 players, truth-clarifying materials about the persecution of Falun Gong, DVDs, cash, and other items.
More than ten practitioners were arrested and detained in the Hegang No. 2 Detention Center and Hegang No. 1 Detention Center. They included: Ms. Cai Qinghua, in her fifties; Ms. Zhang Yuexian, in her seventies; Ms. Chen Shuming, 62; Ms. Wang Qinghua, 49; Ms. Yin Yuehong, about 60; Ms. Liu Guiqin, 63; Ms. Fu Yafang, 62; Mr. Wang Jikun, in his seventies; and Mr. Gong Guidong, in his forties.

16. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Chen Suzhen and Ms. Chen Sulian Arrested
On August 5, 2008, police arrested Ms. Chen Suzhen and Ms. Chen Sulian, practitioners from Liaozhong County, Shenyang City, while they were producing truth-clarifying materials about the persecution of Falun Gong. They are being held in the Zaohua Village No. 1 Detention Center, Shenyang City.
17. [Wendeng City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhang Yingmiao Illegally Detained
On July 29, 2008, Ms. Zhang Yingmiao, a practitioner from Zhangjiachan Town, Wendeng City, Weihai, Shandong Province, was arrested again. She is now in the Wendeng City Detention Center.
18. [Shijiazhuang, Hebei Province] Ms. Tao Fengxiang Arrested
In August, 2008, police illegally arrested practitioner Ms. Tao Fengxiang.
19. [Tanghai County, Heibei Province] Mr. Ning Yongxiu, Ms. Sun Cuiqing and Ms. Chi Yanlan Arrested
On the morning of July 26, 2008, Mr. Ning Yongxiu, in his sixties, and his wife Ms. Sun Cuiqing, 55, were arrested and their home was ransacked. A DVD recorder, a satellite receiver, a copy machine, a picture of the founder of Falun Gong, and Falun Dafa books were confiscated. The same day, Ms. Chi Yanlan was also arrested.
20. [Huhehaote City, Inner Mongolia] Ms. Ren Zhigang Arrested
On the afternoon of July 22, Mr. Ren Zhigang, a teacher from Huhehaote City College was arrested.
21. [Shiyan City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Chen Xuyun and Mr. Wu Mingjin Arrested
Ms. Chen Xuyun and her husband, Mr. Wu Mingjin, practitioners from Shiyan City, were arrested at home by staff from the Security Unit at their place of employment and police officers. Falun Dafa materials, computers, and other items were confiscated. Their two-year-old grandson was left at home unattended. The couple is now being held in the Shiyan City Detention Center.
22. [Neijiang City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Zheng Boliang and 80 Other Practitioners Taken to a Brainwashing Center
Since July, 2008, police officers from Neijiang City arrested over 80 practitioners, including Mr. Zheng Boliang, Ms. Mo Qin, Ms. Qiu Guirong, Mr. Sun Youjun, Mr. Wang Zangkun, Ms. Zhou Yilan, Ms. Li Suxian, and Ms. Huang Xinmei. They have been harassed and mistreated in the Neijiang City Brainwashing Center.

23. [Liaoyuan City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Sheng Shuyun Taken to a Brainwashing Center
On August 4, 2008, local police arrested practitioner Ms. Sheng Shuyun and took her to a brainwashing center.
24. [Jiangyuan County, Liaoning Province] Five Family Members Arrested and Home Ransacked
At around 2:00 p.m. on July 30, police from the Jiangyuan County Police Bureau, Beishan City, and Wangou Police Station arrested practitioners Mr. Yu Guiquan; his wife, Ms. Liu Xiumei, their son, Mr. Yu Lei; brother, Mr. Yu Guilin; and his sister-in-law, Ms. Yang Fengxiang. They confiscated two computers, three printers, and a lot of Falun Dafa materials. Additionally, they broke a lock and stole 5,000 yuan. Ms. Yu Lei and Mr. Yu Guilin have returned home, but the others are still being detained in the Jiangyuan County Police Station.

25. [Yushu City, Jilin Province] Ms. Hu Lili Arrested
On the morning of August 8, police arrested Ms. Hu Lili in Huachang Cultural Square, Yushu City, and sentenced her to a 15-day prison term.
26. [Yilan County, Liaoning Province] Ms. Qu Guihua Taken to Masanjia Forced Labor Camp
27. [Xinbin County, Liaoning Province] Ms. Tu Lijuan and Other Practitioners Sent to Forced Labor Camp, Brainwashing Center, and Detention Center
Ms. Tu Lijuan, a practitioner from Xinbin County, was sentenced to one year of forced labor and taken to Masanjia Forced Labor Camp. Ms. Huangyi, Ms. Wang Xiujuan, and Ms. Song Qiuhong were taken to the Luotai Mountain Village Brainwashing Center, Fushun City. Ms. Yuan Hebin was sentenced to one year and six months of forced labor and taken to Wujiapu Forced Labor Camp. Ms. Yu Shuxian is still detained in the Xinbin County Detention Center.
28. [Yanbian, Jilin Province] Preschool Teachers Ms. Sun Qingju and Ms. Wu Fengxian Arrested
At around 8:00 p.m. on August 5, Ms. Sun Qingju and Ms. Wu Fengxian, preschool teachers in Fajiazi, Yanbian, were arrested. On the afternoon of August 6, they were taken to the Helong Detention Center.
29. [Beijing City] Ms. Cai Xiaoqin Arrested
On July 24, 2008, police from the Laoshan Police Station, Shijingshan District, arrested Ms. Cai Xiaoqin at home.
30. [Jinan, Shandong Province] Mr. Shi Jianzhong Arrested
On the morning of August 8, 2008, Mr. Shi Jianzhong, a practitioner from Jinan, was arrested. No further details are available.
31. [Wendeng, Shandong Province] Ms. Shao Lanying Arrested
At 10:00 a.m. on August 4, 2008, police from the Domestic Security Division,Wendeng, conspiring with police from Houjia Police Station, and arrested 59-year-old practitioner Ms. Shao Lanying.
32. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Mr. Zhang Yongli Arrested
On the evening of July 29, 2008, police from Hanting District arrested Mr. Zhang Yongli, 58, from Gaoli Town, Hanting District, Weifang City. They also confiscated his computer, printer, and other items.
33. [Dongying City, Shandong Province] Ms. Cui Guixia Arrested
On July 31, officers from the Shengli Street Office, Dongying District, arrested Mr. Cui Guixia, a practitioner from Dongying City while she was working in her clothing store. No further news is available.
34. [Shen County, Shandong Province] Ms. Si Ximei Arrested
On the morning of June 12, 2008, the superintendent and the police of Xuzhuang Village Police Station arrested Ms. Si Ximei, 49. They confiscated Dafa books and materials. Ms. Si Ximei has been illegally taken to the Jinan Women's Forced Labor Camp.
35. [Linshu County, Shandong Province] Mr. Chen Xuekai Arrested
At around 8:00 a.m. on August 5, 2008, police broke into Mr. Chen Xuekai's home and arrested him. They confiscated his Falun Gong books. He is now in the Linshu County Detention Center.
36. [Laizhou City, Shandong Province] Ms. Dong Chunhua and Daughter Arrested
On August 8, 2008, Ms. Dong Chunhua and her daughter from Zhacun Town, Laizhou City, were arrested.
37. [Baoding City, Heibei Province] Mr. Mi Guohui Arrested
On August 8, 2008, police from the local police bureau arrested Mr. Mi Guohui from Mancheng County, Baoding City.
38. [Xiong County, Hebei Province] Mr. Yang Zhixiong Arrested
On the morning of August 7, 2008, officers from the 610 Office in Xiong County arrested Mr. Yang Zhixiong and took him to the Baoding Brainwashing Center. His elder sister, Ms. Yang Yindi, was arrested and taken to the Baoding Brainwashing Center 10 days ago.

39. [Shenzhen City, Hebei Province] Ms. Peng Yingqiu and Ms. Li Xiaoli Arrested
On July 19, 2008, officials from the Bingcao Village government conspired with police from Chenshi Village Police Station to arrest Mr. Peng Yingqiu and Ms. Li Xiaoli from Chenshi Village, Shenzhen City. The police also confiscated their laptops, satellite receiver, Falun Dafa books, and other items. Ms. Peng and Ms. Li were taken to the Politics and Law Division of the Shenzhen Police Department.
On the morning of July 19, police from the Chenshi Village Police Station ransacked the home of Mr. Li Xiaoqi from Chenshi Village, Shenzhen City. They confiscated his DVD recorder. Mr. Li escaped and became homeless to avoid further persecution.
40. [Wanquan County, Hebei Province] Mr. Sun Ziqing and Ms. Wang Yan'ai Arrested
On the evening of August 5, 2008, officers from the 610 Office, police officers from the Police Bureau of Wanquan County, and officials from the Beishacheng Village and Town government arrested Mr. Sun Ziqing and Ms. Wang Yan'ai from Beishacheng Village, Wanquan County, and took them to the Wanquan County Brainwashing Center.
41. [Hebei Province] Ms. Zhang Yuling Arrested
On August 8, 2008, Ms. Zhang Yuling from Nanpi was arrested.
42. [Huozhou City, Shanxi Province] The Home of Mr. Ren Fengxiang Ransacked
On August 1, police officers from the Huozhou City, Shanxi Province police bureau and police from the Tuisha Police Station, broke into the home of Ms. Ren Fengxiang, a practitioner of Shilin Village. They ransacked her home and confiscated Falun Dafa books and truth-clarifying materials about the persecution of Falun Gong. They are monitoring her and are limiting her personal freedom.
43. [Zhengzhou City, Henan Province] Ms. Wang Aiyun, Ms. Wang Aiying, and Her 13-Year-Old Daughter Arrested
On August 4, officers from Shangjie District, Zhengzhou City, arrested Ms. Wang Aiyun, in her fifties; Ms. Wang Aiying, in her fifties, retiree of China Aluminum; and her 13-year-old daughter, who lives in Nanxiawo.
44. [Shenzhou City, Hebei Province] Mr. Li Sile Arrested
Mr. Li Sile, a practitioner from Xin Village, Chenshi Township, Shenzhou County, went to Tianjin to work. He was arrested by officers from the Shenzhou City and Chenshi Village Police Stations. They took him to the Politics and Law Division of the Shenzhou City Police Bureau. He was released the following day.
45. [Da County, Sichuan Province] Ms. Liu Mingzhen and Ms. He Changying Arrested
At noon on July 22, Pan Junlan and seven to eight policemen from the Domestic Security Agency, Da County, arrested Ms. Liu Mingzhen and Ms. He Changying. They ransacked their home and confiscated a bank deposit book, printer, Falun Dafa books, and other items. They even confiscated the computer that belongs to Ms. He Changying's daughter, a non-practitioner.
46. [Hailar, Inner Mongolia] Mr. Wang Zhankun Arrested Again
At 10:00 a.m. on August 6, 2008, the deputy commander of the Domestic Security Division, Police Bureau of the Hailar District, staff from the Political and Judiciary Committee, and several police officers from the Shengli Police Station broke into Mr. Wang Zhankun's home and arrested him.
47. [Yingcheng City, Hubei Province] Three Practitioners Sentenced to Forced Labor
On August 1, 2008, officers from the Yingcheng City 610 Office, Domestic Security Division, and local police station arrested Mr. Yan Sanming, Mr. Xiang Hongxing, and Ms. Chu Sichun.
On August 6, 2008, these practitioners were sentenced to forced labor and taken to Shayang Forced Labor Camp in Hubei Province.
48. [Pengzhou, Sichuan Province] Mr. Ni Jian Arrested
On August 5, 2008, police arrested Mr. Ni Jian when he worked on house sale procedures at the Group Center. The police also ransacked his home.
49. [Jinyun County, Sichuan Province] Ms. Qiu Xiu'e, Ms. Xue Hong, and Mr. Zhao Wang Arrested
On August 6, police officers from Xinjian County Police Station, County Police Bureau, and local 610 Office arrested Ms. Qiu Xiu'e from Xinjian Town, Jinyun County. They ransacked her home and confiscated her computer and several discs.
Ms. Xue Hong and Mr. Zhao Wang from Hu Town, Jinyun County, have also been recently arrested.
50. [Wuhan, Hubei Province]Mr. Lei Arrested
At 9:30 p.m. on August 8, Mr. Lei was arrested. No further information is available.
51. [Nanchong City, Sichuan Province] Three Practitioners Arrested
Mr. Li Yongjiang and a female practitioner from Nabu County, Nanchong City, were sentenced to three years of forced labor. They were taken to Nanmusi Forced Labor Camp and Xinhua Forced Labor Camp respectively.
In August, 2008, Mr. Xu Bangcheng from Majiawan, Huofeng Township, Nanbu County, Nanchong City, was reported to the police and arrested. He is now in the county detention center.
52. [Chongqing] Ms. Huang Shuying and Other Practitioners Arrested
On July 23, officers from the Beibei District 610 Office and police bureau, and police from the Jingguan Police Station, broke into Mr. Pengmin's home in Malan Village. They confiscated her Falun Dafa books and materials. They also arrested Mr. Yang Zhegnyu, Ms. Tong Daiqun, Mr. Lu Hui, Ms. Huang Shuying, Ms. Tan Genyin, and Ms. Zhou Yichun and took them to the Jingguan Police Station. They forced them to sign the arrest papers and fingerprinted them.
53. [Changsha, Hunan Province] Mr. Liang Jianguo Arrested
On August 2, Mr. Liang Jianguo was arrested in his rental apartment in Yuelu District, Changsha City.
54. [Tonghua County, Jilin Province] Mr. Wang Chengfa Arrested
At 5:00 a.m. on August 6, 2008, police arrested Mr. Wang Chengfa, 47, from Ying'ebu Town, Tonghua County.
