This year, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) conducted mass-arrests of Falun Gong practitioners using the excuse of protecting the Beijing Olympic Games. In the last three months, the CCP has arrested almost twenty practitioners from Dazhu County, Sichuan Province. Ms. Zhang Nengmin, 40, is an unemployed worker. She lives in the dormitory housing of the Zhuyang Town Wine Factory. On the morning of April 1, 2008, Peng Yu from the 610 Office and Liu Xiaodong from the Beicheng Police Station led a dozen people to break into Ms. Zhang Nengmin's home. They forcibly opened the door and ransacked the home. They took away two TVs, along with VCD players and Falun Gong books. In the process, Ms. Zhang managed to get away. After being homeless for two months, she was arrested again.

Ms. Zhang Nengmin makes a living doing acupuncture. Before practicing Falun Gong, she suffered from many illnesses. Less than one year after starting the practice, all of her illnesses disappeared. She strives to conform to the standards of a cultivator and is an ethical doctor. After her divorce, the court gave her husband custody of their son, but she actually took care of her son on her own. Ms. Zhang's arrest took him away from his mother's care.
