Li Jianqiang Sentenced to Forced Labor

Sept. 15, 2008

(Clearwisdom.net) Note: The following is a shortened version of a longer and more detailed article that appeared on the minghui.ca website (Chinese version of Clearwisdom.net).

On March 26, 2008, Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Li Jianqiang was illegally arrested and confined in the Liuchangshan Brainwashing Center. Those involved in his arrest are police officers and agents from the 610 Office of Licheng District, and Yue Jikang, the Chinese Communist Party secretary of his work unit. Mr. Li is employed at the Natural Medicine Department of the Shandong Province Institute of Pharmaceutical Industry. Because the persecutors could not coerce Mr. Li into renouncing his belief, they took away his liberty and charged him high "living expenses." They extorted 3,600 yuan per month from him. Each day, people from his Institute took turns to take him for brainwashing in an attempt to force him to renounce his faith. This went on for nearly four months, after which Li Jianqiang was sentenced to one year and nine months of forced labor. On July 16 Mr. Li was taken to the Second Labor Camp of Shandong Province, located in Zhangqiu, Shandong.
