(Clearwisdom.net) Baoding City Law System Education Center, also known as the "Little White Building" in Baoding City, Hebei Province, is currently detaining 11 Falun Gong practitioners, including Ms. Li Jinling, 40 years old, from Anxin County, Hebei Province; Mr. Yang Zhiqiong, 41, a reporter from the Law Daily in Qiong County, Hebei Province; Ms. Chen Shuhui from Dingzhou, Hebei Province; Mr. Gao Changqiu, 40, from Shi Village in Qizuo Township, Tang County, Hebei Province; Mr. Zhang Yueming, 43, from Baoding City, Hebei Province; Mr. Li Shunli from Jiangcheng, Mancheng County, Baoding City, Hebei Province; Mr. Liu Kexin, 45, a cadre from the Bureau of Land and Resources, Anxin County, Hebei Province; and Ms. Qi Shuying, a physical education teacher at Baoding College, Hebei Province.
Baoding Forced Labor Camp adopted brutal methods to try to forcibly "transform" Falun Gong practitioners. These tortures included forcing practitioners to use both hands to hold their heads and feet while staying in a squatting position for a long time, to lie on a wooden board, to be handcuffed to a bed frame for a long time in an awkward position, unable to stand or sit comfortably; and to endure "stewing the eagle" (long-term sleep deprivation). Officers Liu Qingyoung and Wang Lei, political instructors from the No. 2 Team, often ordered criminal inmates such as robbers and thieves to beat and torture practitioners Wang Defu and Yu Yongqi with electric batons.
Below is an accounting of how some of the practitioners were arrested:
Mr. Li Shunli lives in a beautiful place called Lanjing Lanwan District, Baoding City, Lin Hong'en. The assistant director of the police station in Jie Village Township came with other officers to monitor Mr. Li's family members. They broke into his home and arrested him, Mr. Li Yukui, and Mr. Zhang Yueming. The police stole 480 yuan from Li Shunli, 1,100 yuan from Li Yukui, and 100 yuan from Zhang Yueming. The police frequently transferred Mr. Li to different detention locations. They tried twice to transfer him to Baoding Detention Center, but center officials refused to accept him. Then they detained him in the "Little White Building" for two days and then transferred him to the forced labor camp three times, totaling six days. The police held Mr. Li Shunli in Jie Village Police Station for 24 hours. He was then taken to the 610 Office in a new district and later transferred to Jiangcheng Township Government and detained there for 24 hours. Finally, the police transferred him to the "Little White Building" and every day they handcuffed him to the bed and wouldn't allow him to move a bit.
Mr. Liu Kexin, 45, is a cadre from the Bureau of Land and Resources in Anxin County. On July 22 at 6:00 a.m., Dou Zhiheng, assistant director of the Anxin County Police Station; five to six officers; Qing Haijun, the deputy director of the Bureau of Land and Resources of Anxin County; Lu Kexue, team lead of the Disciplinary Inspection Bureau; and five others broke into Mr. Liu's home. They inspected his computer by using CD recovery tools but didn't find anything. Later, Zhao Fengjun, director of the Bureau of Land and Resources in Anxin County, took Mr. Liu to the office and tried to force him to sign a pre-written document. Liu Kexin refused to sign. Zhao Fengjun held Mr. Liu until that evening. On July 23 at 2:00 p.m., Cao Kejun from the county police station and four officers took him to the "Little White Building" brainwashing center, where he remains. (He was once detained by the county 610 Office for brainwashing from February 22, 2001, to April 7, 2002.) He had 10,000 yuan extorted from him.
Ms. Li Jinling, who is 40 years old, is from Anxin Village, Hebei Province. On July 22 at 6:00 a.m., officers from the county police station; Tian Baoqi, the Party Secretary of Anxin County; and over a dozen others broke into Ms. Li's home and took away her ID. She was ordered to write a guarantee statement, or they would take her away. She refused and locked her door. The police stayed downstairs and harassed her until 6:00 that evening. Later an officer climbed from a window on the second floor and opened the door of the building. Over a dozen officers rushed in and carried Li Jinling down the stairs from the second floor and then took her to the brainwashing center in the "Little White Building" in Baoding City. Mr. Gao Changqiu, 40, is from Shi Village, Qizuo Township, Tang County, Hebei Province. On July 10, 2007, Liu Junyu, head of the 610 Office of Tang County, ordered Jia Bingquan and Di Xiaolong from the county's National Security Team to arrest Mr. Gao in Wangjing Village. They detained him in the county detention center for two weeks and later transferred him to Mali Village Forced Labor Camp in Baoding City to serve a one-year term of forced labor. On June 17, 2008, he was released. However, Liu Junyu, head of the 610 Office, ordered a group of officers to arrest Mr. Gao Changqiu and take him to the brainwashing center in the "Little White Building" in Baoding, where he is still being held.
