Handling Interference and Persecution with Righteous Thoughts

Jan. 16, 2009 |   By a practitioner in China

(Clearwisdom.net) I studied "Teaching the Fa in Canada, 2006" last night. In the lecture, Master said,

"You should view them with righteous thoughts, [asking yourselves,] 'With this trouble I'm facing, what's the correct approach to all that has to do with this interference, and how should I balance it against the goal of saving sentient beings? And how should I go about it in a way that's responsible to sentient beings, and view the occurrence of these things as good grounds for clarifying the truth, or as good opportunities to clarify the truth?' Under normal circumstances you might not have a reason to go approach people and clarify the truth to them, and if you do so out of the blue they might not want to meet with you. Doesn't the interference give you a chance to interact with people? Shouldn't you seize the opportunity and clarify the truth to them? The greatest responsibility Dafa disciples have, aside from cultivating themselves, is that of saving lives. So could you not do that? And how could you not do it well? So don't regard the occurrence of whatever problems you face as interference to your rightful tasks, to your Fa study, or to your clarifying the truth. That's not the case. When a problem arises, it provides an opportunity for clarifying the truth."

Reading this paragraph gave me a new understanding of how to look at the evil's interference and persecution.

Everything in the human world has pros and cons. The evil's interference and persecution have hindered practitioners' efforts in saving sentient beings, and this is the negative. But there are also positives, in that it gives us an opportunity to clarify the facts to the people involved in the interference and persecution, thus saving them and giving them a way out from their dilemma. After the persecution happened, it gave us an opportunity to save the people working in the 610 Office, as well as those working in public security, the Procuratorate, and the courts.

We can use many reasonable means to clarify the truth, be it face-to-face, phone calls, or letters, and as long as our minds are compassionate, it will work. Because our minds and demeanor are compassionate, the words we say or the letters we write will carry the power of compassion, which will disintegrate the bad elements in peoples' minds, and awaken their knowing sides, so they will listen, read and understand the truth and be saved.

When they are aware they can be saved, the evil will not control them. Instead, they will resist the persecution and treat practitioners well. This is how the persecution can be turned into a good thing - by saving sentient beings.

This concludes my personal understandings. Please point out anything improper.
