Thirteen Falun Gong Practitioners from Qingdao City Suffer Persecution

Jan. 18, 2009

(Clearwisdom.net) Following is a summary of the overall circumstances for thirteen practitioners suffering persecution in Qingdao City.

1. Ms. Jin Fengli and her husband Li Tao
Agents from the Hefei Road Police Station arrested Ms. Jin Fengli and her husband Li Tao on January 26, 2008. The following people participated in the mistreatment of the two practitioners: Hefei Road Police Station individuals Yu Yongjie, chief Xiao, Wang Jianguo and deputy chief Sun Shusen; Li XX from Jiaozhou Road Police Station. During a home search they confiscated Jin's car, more than 200,000 yuan in cash, three computers and some other personal belongings. That same evening police beat Ms. Jin and forbade her to sleep for several days in a row. She started to bleed continuously, and she had severe heart problems and low blood pressure. She once went on a hunger strike. To qualify her for incarceration at a detention center, the officials sent her to a hospital three times to check her physical condition. Detention center officials had refused her admission because of her health problems. During the last hospital exam the authorities forced the doctor to alter the diagnosis right in front of Ms. Jin, who was finally transferred to the Qingdao City Detention Center.

The guards of the detention center introduced Ms. Jin to a "lawyer" who charged her more than 10,000 yuan, but came up with a contrived guilty plea anyway. The "lawyer" lied to Jin's family, saying that if they paid him 300,000 yuan, he would be able to get a fair verdict for Jin. In other words, he would be able to bribe the judge and other people involved in Jin's case, so that they would release her. The "lawyer" suggested to the family that they sell their house to get enough money. Doubting the self-appointed lawyer's real motive, Jin's family refused his request.

Ms. Jin is still locked up at the Qingdao Detention Center Women's Section. Li Tao is out on 5,000 yuan "bail."

2. Ms. Lu Xueqin
Ms. Lu Xueqin was arrested on January 26, 2008. Participating in the arrest were policemen from No. 2 and No. 3 Criminal Police Teams of Shibei District Police Department and Li Gang from the Liaoyuan Road Police Station. While searching her residence, these agents confiscated her Falun Gong books, paintings, several cellular phones, an MP3 player, a recording pen, recorder, and more than 130,000 yuan (some of which has been retrieved). Policeman Min Hang ruthlessly abused Ms. Lu and deprived her of sleep for several days. In addition, 610 Office heads Lin Zhikun, Hong Junjiang, and other personnel, Sun Guimei, and Jiang Chunbin, tortured her. Ms. Lu was paralyzed and began to have severe signs of thrombosis, bleeding, adenomas and heart disease.

The truck Lu's husband used for his house remodeling business was also confiscated. Ms. Lu is now under house arrest.

These individuals confiscated Mr. Zheng's mini van, 8,000 yuan in cash and some other personal belongings, not following any legal procedures. Mr. Zheng was brutally beaten, which injured his hands and made them swell. The policemen also burned his beard and chin with a lighter, badly scarring his nose and chin. He was deprived of sleep and then forced to write false "confessions" for the police. Mr. Zheng owns an aluminum plant. Mr. Yin was forced to write things for the policemen and sign his name while he was muddleheaded. One day at the end of March, after suffering from torture, Mr. Yin was extremely weak and exhausted, but the abusers still placed him in handcuffs and shackles, and then dragged him to Lu Xueqin, who had already been tortured to the point of paralysis. After that, the policemen forced him to say something to surrender. The persecutors used such methods to mentally torment practitioners.

By October 2000, Mr. Yin had served three years of forced labor. He is now held at the Qingdao No. 1 Detention Center.

9. Mr. Liang Lijun
Mr. Liang Lijun was arrested on January 31, 2008 at the hands of policemen from the Ningxia Road Police Station. The officers took his computer, printer, recorder, MP3 player and over 6,000 yuan.
