Showing My Students Divine Performing Arts and Truth-Clarification Video Clips

By a Falun Gong practitioner from China
(Clearwisdom.net) I am a teacher in a technical vocational college.
During the past year, I have played videos about the Second Sino-Japanese War,
the Anti-Rightist Movement, the Cultural Revolution, Falun Gong, and Divine
Performing Arts. In addition, I used the format of a survey to let 40 students
resign from the CCP and its affiliated associations.
While I taught in a university, I did similar things to clear up
misconceptions, tell others about Falun Gong and expose the persecution. I have
taught close to two thousand students in the school without being reported. Some
practitioners were reported for clarifying the truth in classrooms.
Here, after consideration, I would like to share my experiences on clarifying
the truth in classrooms:
- With a compassionate mind, actively communicate with the students. Let
your students know that you are a good person and someone with knowledge and
talent in order to build up mutual trust.
- Truth clarification has to be done in an orderly fashion. Sometimes, I
found that some students agreed with my points, but flipped to the other
side after a couple days. This was caused by the fact that they did not
fully digest the truth. Why are there so many words in the Nine
Commentaries? It is to explain the facts thoroughly in an orderly
fashion.
- Methods used should be various and diverse. The best way to clarify the
truth is to use video clips because seeing something once is better than
hearing it a hundred times. Great talks are still not as effective as good
videos. It's very bad that some teachers were reported for clarifying the
truth. If videos are used, especially some carefully edited ones that relate
to classroom content, students can generally be persuaded. Sometimes, I
mailed informational DVDs to the dormitory rooms. I let them watch and
discuss the DVDs in their dorms. Afterwards, I played videos to clarify the
truth in class. The effect is better if they can receive the same
information from both inside and outside of the classroom. After a few
students understand the facts thoroughly, they will help to clarify the
truth to others in the dorms.
In addition, we need to closely connect our truth-clarification with
classroom content and the problems of today's society. For instance, we can ask,
"Students, what is Chinese culture's heritage? We can come to know that by
watching the following video program." Then, the program for Divine
Performing Arts could be played. After that, we could guide students to think
about the relationship between the dancers and Falun Gong.
