Nov. 9

When Mr. Ma Hongwei was in critical condition after being tortured in the detention center, the police let his family take him away. He died at home.

Nov. 10

It has been three months since Mr. Yin Sirong went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution.

Nov. 11

The official explanation for Ms. Wang death in custody is a 'stroke' but her family members saw wounds on her body and received a report she had been beaten to death for refusing to answer questions during an interrogation. Since attempting to hire a lawyer to investigate the case, the family has been harassed by police.

Ms Sun Shuxiang was interviewed by human rights lawyer Gao Zhisheng in 2005 about her already long history of persecution. She has been arrested, imprisoned and tortured several more time since. After her most recent arrest in October 2009, she is in critical condition.

Nov. 12

Ms. Li Xiuzhen was arrested in June of 2009 and reported dead by authorities in October 2009. After her death her family found and unfinished account of persecution she had suffered in earlier years.

Ms Lu gives an account in some detail of her experiences of persecution from 2000 to date, with particular emphasis on her imprisonment and torture in 2008. She is at home on medical release and seeking permission to travel for medical treatments denied her during her imprisonment.

Nov. 13

Ms. Cao dies in custody after beatings. Prison authorities claimed 'heart attack' as the cause of death and cancelled all visitation rightrs to the prison for a month.

Nov. 14

Mr. Wang was arrested and sentenced to ten years. He lost a leg due to tortures in the prison. When he was dying, the local police and prison still refused to let him go home. He died on October 31, 2009. Local CCP secretary forced his family to bury him immediately.
