Dec. 25, 2009 |   By Wang Ching-han

(Clearwisdom.net) Chinese Communist Party (CCP) official Chen Yunlin led a delegation and visited Taiwan on December 20, 2009. Falun Gong practitioners held activities to protest the CCP's persecution of the practice. They held banners along roads from morning to evening and called for an end to the CCP's persecution.

On Chungkang Street, practitioners held banners and lined up along the road. More than 6,000 practitioners participated in the event, which caught the attention of local and foreign media reporters.

The BBC mentioned in its report that Falun Gong practitioners kept protesting outside of the conference venue of Chen and Jiang.

An AFP reporter said that it was inconceivable that Falun Gong practitioners could sit on the dusty ground in the cold all through the night.

A reporter from The Mainichi Daily News (Japan) said he admired Falun Gong as the practitioners held banners or sat quietly in the cold evening.

Almost all the local TV stations covered the practitioners' peaceful protest. Even though Chen Yunlin's trip was intentionally altered to avoid his seeing the protest, practitioners held banners along the roads his motorcade passed by.

It was reported that Chen visited Sanyi at noon. Falun Gong practitioners waited for him before 6 a.m. Police did not set up a blockade until after 8 a.m. but practitioners were on the spot already. Chen's welcome team did not come until after 11 a.m. and were not allowed to enter.

Liberty Times reported on December 23, "Among all the protesting groups, Falun Gong is the most eye-catching one. They started a sit-in protest and holding banners worded 'Stop persecuting Falun Gong' on December 20 and kept it up 24 hours a day. Except for shouting words of protest, they have kept quiet. Their perseverance and discipline were admired by the police on site."

United Daily News also covered the practitioners' peaceful protest. Several thousand people followed Chen's visit. They maintained good order and discipline. They sat down and held banners in turns. Several protesting groups on site expressed their admiration to the Falun Gong practitioners. The practitioners cooperated well in the protest from 4 a.m. to 12 a.m. No one complained or made noise. Occasionally someone led the shouting of the protest words: "Stop persecuting Falun Gong." Their call was strong and impressed all on site.

Mr. Chang Ching-hsi, director of the Taiwan Falun Dafa Association, pointed out, "Chen Yunlin is representing the CCP in visiting Taiwan. The CCP initiated the persecution of Falun Gong in 1999. The CCP's persecution is inhumane and brutal. We want to stop the persecution and have the world's people understand and come together to stop it."

A practitioner from Kaohsing said, "During the last ten years, the CCP has unlawfully arrested, imprisoned, and tortured Falun Gong practitioners. The CCP even harvests organs from living practitioners. Under the CCP's severe information blockade, it has been documented that more than 3,000 practitioners were tortured to death. Countless practitioners are imprisoned in jails, labor camps, and mental hospitals."

Taiwan human rights lawyer Theresa Chu said, "It is exciting that the Spanish court indicted Jiang Zemin, Luo Gan, Bo Xilai, Jia Qingling, and Wu Guanzheng for their persecution of Falun Gong. These five top CCP officials are the main culprits of the persecution. In addition, an Argentinian judge ordered the arrest of Jaing Zemin and Luo Gan for their crimes against humanity in the persecution of Falun Gong."
