(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 16 cities and counties in 10 provinces. In this report, 11 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention and at least 15 practitioners were illegally arrested.
1. [Dalian, Liaoning Province] Ms. Li Hong "Illegally Arrested" and Taken to the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp
In mid September 2008, officers from the Huanghelu Police Station illegally arrested Ms. Li Hong, at the home of a fellow practitioner. Ms. Li was employed at the Dalian Steel Factory in Liaoning Province. Following her arrest, she was "illegally detained' in the Yaojia Detention Center for one month. In mid October, she was relocated to the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp.
2. [Dalian, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Chunying Tortured in Masanjia Forced Labor Camp
Ms. Wang Chunying, a practitioner from Dalian, Liaoning Province, has partial use of her hands after prison guards tortured her by hanging her from her wrists in the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp.
3. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Ms. Wu Xiaohong Sentenced to Three-year Prison Term
Ms. Wu Xiaohong, a practitioner from Jilin City, Jilin Province, was sentenced to a three-year prison term with a suspension of execution. She was forced to terminate her employment contract and remain at home.
4. [Hebei Province] Mr. Wu Junshi Critically Ill, While Officials Neglect Responsibilities
In 2007, policemen illegally arrested Mr. Wu Junshi, a practitioner from the No. 5 Farm, Tanghai County, Hebei Province and took him to the Jidong Prison. During this past year, Mr. Wu Junshi was severely tortured and starved, leaving him in an injured and emaciated state. On January 8, 2009, officials from Jidong Prison neglected their responsibilities for his welfare, and released him to his relatives.
5. [Qingdao, Shandong Province] Ms. Xu Jinping and Mr. Wang Ting Illegally Sentenced to Prison Terms
In July 2008, policemen illegally arrested Ms. Xu Jinping, Mr. Wang Ting and his mother, and Ms. Jia Cuilan outside of their rental apartment near Dashan. The authorities also ransacked their homes. On November 11, 2008, a trial was held at the Sifang District Court. On December 10, 2008, Ms. Xu Jinping was illegally sentenced to a three and a half-year prison term, and Mr. Wang Ting was illegally sentenced to a one-year prison term, with a two-year suspension of execution. Ms. Xu Jinping refused to accept the verdict and applied for a court appeal.
6. [Gaomi City, Shandong Province] Mr. Jing Zaichen and Wife Ms. Zhou Xiangmei Illegally Arrested
At midnight on January 15, 2009, policemen from the Yaoge Town Police Station illegally arrested Mr. Jing Zaichen and his wife Ms. Zhou Xiangmei, practitioners from the Yaoge Village Town. Officers also illegally arrested Ms. Zhang Huiqin. The following day, police ransacked the home of Ms. Dai Xiangzhi.
7. [Gaoping City, Shanxi Province] Mr. Liu Xiliang Illegally Arrested
At 8:00 p.m. on January 15, 2009, Yang Changchun, an official from the Domestic Security Division, Gaoping City Bureau, along with several policemen broke into the home of Mr. Liu Xiliang, a practitioner over seventy years old from Gaoping City and illegally arrested him. They confiscated his DVD recorder, Dafa books and other private items. Currently, Mr. Liu Xiliang is illegally detained at the detention center.
Mr. Liu Xiliang has been illegally detained three times since July 20, 1999 when the persecution started. In 2001, he was detained for over a month. In 2004, he was illegally sentenced to a three-year prison term. After his release, police frequently harassed and monitored him.
8. [Yingkou City, Shandong Province] Ms. Liu Ailian Illegally Arrested
On January 20, 2009, Ms. Liu Ailian, a practitioner from Yingkou City, Shandong Province was illegally arrested while she was talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. Currently, she is illegally detained in the Yingkou City Detention Center.
9. [Miyi, Sichuan Province] Ms. Hu Xingyu Illegally Arrested
At 8:00 a.m. on January 21, 2009, Ms. Hu Xingyu, a practitioner from the No. 2 Group, Suitang Village, Miyi, Sichuan Province was illegally arrested at her home.
10. [Chongqing City] Ms. Ming Dexiu and Ms. Li Tingwei Illegally Sentenced to Forced Labor
During the August 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, policemen from Tongliang County, Chongqing City broke into the home of Ms. Ming Dexiu, a practitioner, and illegally arrested her. She was illegally sentenced to one year and three months of forced labor.
On December 20, 2008, officials from the local 610 Office, State Security Bureau and Police Department arrested practitioner Ms. Li Tingwei while she was helping her son to care for his child. Currently, Ms. Li is illegally detained at the Shimahe Women's Forced Labor Camp.
11. [Bin County, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Meng Qinglan Illegally Arrested
On January 17, 2009, policemen from the Domestic Security Division, Pingfang Branch, Harbin Police Bureau illegally arrested Ms. Meng Qinglan, a practitioner from Bin County.

12. [Benxi City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Luu Jinyu Tortured
Mr. Luu Jinyu was illegally arrested while distributing articles about the persecution of Falun Gong. He endured severe torture sessions in the Big White Building in Benxi City, where he was illegally sentenced to a nine-year prison term. Later, he was taken to the Dabei Prison, then transferred to the Wafangdian Prison in Dalian. He is currently held at the No. 12 Group, Shenyang No. 1 Prison. He is frequently beaten and often held in an isolation cell because he refused to cooperate with the authorities.

13. [Linyi City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhao Xiuying and Another Practitioner Illegally Arrested
Ms. Zhao Xiuying, about 70 years old, a practitioner from Lanshan District, Linyi City, was illegally arrested at the People's Square of Linyi City. She is illegally detained at the Linyi City Detention Center.
14. [Gaomi City, Shandong Province] Ms. Tang Guiying Illegally Arrested
About 8:00 a.m. on January 16, 2009, policemen from the Jiangzhuang Town Police Station, Gaomi City broke into the home of Ms. Tang Guiying, and illegally arrested her. She is currently detained in the Gaomi City Detention Center.

15. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Gao Yuxiang Illegally Arrested
On the afternoon of January 17, 2009, policemen from Changle, Weifang City unexpectedly broke into the home of practitioner Ms. Gao Yuxiang and illegally arrested her. Policemen brutally beat her while still in her home.
16. [Pingdu City, Shandong Province] Mr. Chen Zhenbo Illegally Sentenced to Forced Labor
On December 20, 2008, Mr. Chen Zhenbo was reported to the police while he was talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong, and was illegally arrested. He was illegally sentenced to forced labor.
17. [Pingdu City, Shandong Province] Mr. Sui Youjun Illegally Sentenced to a Seven-Year Prison Term
Mr. Sui Youjun was illegally sentenced to a seven-year prison term. He was tortured, and his legs were swollen to the point that he was not able to put on his clothes. Even under these circumstances, policemen took him to the prison in Jinan, Shandong Province.
18. [Shenzhen, Guangdong Province] Mr. Zhang Yanbiao Illegally Sentenced to Forced Labor
Prior to the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, policemen arrested Mr. Zhang Yanbiao and his wife, practitioners from Shenzhen, Guangdong Province. Officials confiscated their computer, which was used for Mr. Zhang Yanbiao's work and his child's study. Later Mr. Zhang Yanbiao was illegally sentenced to two years of forced labor. His wife has been illegally detained at the Xili Brainwashing Center for four months.
19. [Zhuhai City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Liang Jinghui Illegally Sentenced to Forced Labor
On July 20, 2008, Liang Rongfang and several policemen illegally arrested Mr. Liang Jinghui, a mathematics teacher at the Pingsha Elementary School, Jinwan District, Zhuhai City. He was illegally sentenced to three years of forced labor by the West District, Zhuhai City Police Bureau.
20. [Chongqing City] Ms. Huang Zhenglan Illegally Arrested
On the morning of January 22, 2009, Ms. Huang Zhenglan, a practitioner from Changshou District, Chongqing City, was illegally arrested while distributing articles about the persecution of Falun Gong in Bake Town, Changshou District.
21. [Guangzhou, Guangdong Province] Ms. Liang Huo Illegally Detained
On January 10, 2009, policemen from the Datang Street Police Station illegally arrested Ms. Liang Huo, 56, a practitioner from Guangzhou City while she was talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong near the city library at Zhongshan 4th Rd, Guangzhou City. She is currently being illegally detained at the Yuxiu District Detention Center.
22. [Zhengzhou, Henan Province] Ms. Wang Aiqin Secretly Sentenced to a Prison Term
Policemen illegally arrested Ms. Wang Aiqin, a practitioner from Zhengzhou, Henan while she was distributing information about the persecution of Falun Gong. She had been illegally detained at the Zhengzhou No. 1 Detention Center for seven months, since June 2008, which is past her prison term. In June 2008, Jinshui District Court, Zhengzhou City officials secretly sentenced her to a prison term. She was taken to the Xinxiang Women's' Prison in Henan Province.
23. [Wuxue City, Hubei Province] Mr. Zhu Yaoting Illegally Arrested
At 1:00 p.m. on January 20, 2009, policemen from the Baiyun District Police Bureau and Jingxi Police Station, Guangzhou City illegally arrested Mr. Zhu Yaoting, a practitioner and employee retired from the Wuxue City Food Bureau, Hubei Province. Policemen ransacked his home during the arrest.
