Jan. 13

The persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in Changlinzi Forced Labor Camp has been intensified since the new warden arrived .Forced labor hours were extended to 14 hours every day. Force-feeding caused the death of Mr. Dong Liantai.

Mr. Jin Lilin has been serving a ten years' term in jail since 2002 because he refuses to renounce Falun Gong. His wife passed away after struggling for several years in a bitter life. Prison guards denied his son's request to see him.

Because of practicing Falun Gong, Ms. Chen Zhenping was sentenced to 18 years in prison. But the verdict was not made available to her family. On January 4, 2009, when her daughter Ms. Jin Zhaohuan went to ask for a copy of the verdict, the judge pushed her down, showered her with kicks, pummeled her with fists, grabbed her hair and knocked her head against a wall.

During the nine years' persecution, six members of Mr. Tian Fujin's family have been sentenced to imprisonment or forced labor, with a total sum of thirty years' term. The last case took place in December 2008. Mr. Tian was given three years, his wife four years, and his daughter five years.
