Feb. 9, 2009 |   By Epoch Times staff

(Clearwisdom.net) SEOUL, South Korea--Divine Performing Arts (DPA) International Company completed the second of six shows at Universal Arts Center in Seoul, South Korea on February 5. Among the audience was Gak-Geun Bak, former Round Sound Choir manager and representative of Korea Kumho Construction Company.

Gak-Geun Bak, former Round Sound Choir manager, finds the truth he had been seeking in Divine Performing Arts (The Epoch Times)

"My heart has been waiting, waiting for the truth to appear, waiting for an ultimate and forever-lasting home for my life. Today I saw the truth and everything that my heart has been longing for. Today, I found it."

Mr. Bak said that he always likes to sing a popular Korean song called Awaiting Heart, and DPA has shown him what he has been seeking.

"I think [DPA] tells mankind that they need to find their original, natural selves; let the heart find its true home. That's my understanding of truth."

Mr. Bak's given name, Gak-Geun, is very rare and unique in Korea. He explained, "When I was born, my grandmother named me Gak-Geun, Gak symbolizes the heavens, and Geun represents the Earth."

After viewing the two-hour show, Mr. Bak walked out with a smile lingering on his face. He said that he heard about the show from a friend. Upon searching for it on the Internet the night before, he instantly bought tickets and came the next day.

He said that in Korea, it's quite rare to have a chance to familiarize oneself with genuine traditional Chinese culture, yet he realized that this culture has deep profundity.

"I think the meaning of being traditional is just finding one's lost original self in this chaotic and morally corrupt world today. Chinese culture has developed over a long period of history, so it is very multicultural itself. It allows people to learn about their natural selves and find the homes of their souls and hearts."

Mr. Bak's favorite program was "Heaven Awaits Us Despite Persecution," which depicts a father who is persecuted to death in China for practicing the spiritual discipline, Falun Gong. The oppression is said to be parallel to millions of such tragedies under the rule of the Chinese Communist Party.

"This dance is very great. It shows how one in the modern society, even after severe moral decline, finds truth and internal freedom."

Another program that Mr. Bak particularly liked was "The Poet's Vision." It delineates a scene of China's most celebrated poet, Li Bai. The "drunken poet" from the Tang Dynasty has come to find inspiration for a masterpiece after drinking alone under the moon.

"It manifested ancient society before our eyes. It kind of let us rediscover the feeling of walking at ease," he said.

Mr. Bak said that he will "absolutely" come again next year with all the friends he can possibly bring to watch the new programs of DPA.

"I really appreciate and treasure the pleasant moment that DPA has brought. I want to show my greatest gratitude and my sincerest wishes to the company. I believe it can bring dreams and hope to more people."
