Ms. Liu Zhongmin Still Detained After Being Arrested Prior to the Olympics

April 8, 2009

(Clearwisdom.net) Prior to the 2008 Olympics, 610 Office agents stormed into practitioner Ms. Liu Zhongmin's home and arrested her. After being detained at the Qing'an Detention Center for a week, she was transferred to the Suihua City Detention Center, where she remains to this day.

At 4:30 a.m. on June 5, 2008, Ms. Liu and her 80-year-old mother, both residents of Suihua City, Heilongjiang Province, heard a series of loud knocks on their front door. When Ms. Liu opened the door, Wang Shubo, a 610 Office agent from Beilin District in Suihua City, forcibly arrested her and took her to the Qing'an Detention Center.

After Ms. Liu was arrested, 610 Office agents completely ransacked her third-floor apartment and occupied a few other floors of the building as well. They took some of her personal belongings, including her Dafa books, computer, and printer.

Several police officers who live on the fourth and fifth floor of Ms. Liu's building had been monitoring and tracking every practitioner who visited her home. While Wang occupied Ms. Liu's apartment, he answered the phone pretending to be a relative of hers so practitioners would feel safe to visit her. The officers had planned to arrest many practitioners this way but in the end only a few were arrested.

Later when Wang Zhijie, a police officer from the Suihua City Police Department, was diagnosed as having a potentially life threatening disease, he, along with his fellow officers, blocked the news from reaching the outside. Possibly they were afraid that Wang's illness might be seen as form of retribution for persecuting Dafa practitioners.

In 2000, when Ms. Liu went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong, she was taken into custody then later transferred to the Suihua City Detention Center. The news of her arrest had a devastating affect on her family. Not only did her husband divorce her and leave, but her mother was completely heartbroken and afraid for her daughter's safety. Both Ms. Liu's mother and her young daughter were extremely sad and missed her very much. Ms. Liu's brother has already spent 12,000 yuan looking for a way to secure his sister's early release.

We hope that all righteous people will pay close attention to Ms. Liu's situation and help put an end to this brutal persecution.
