June 13, 2009

(Clearwisdom.net) At around 3:00 p.m. on May 13, 2009, the Hantai District Court sentenced Falun Gong practitioners Yang Hua, Wu Yali, Ye Hao, and Li Qingmeng to prison without informing their lawyers or families. Yang Hua was sentenced to nine years in prison. Wu Yali and Ye Hao were each sentenced to five years in prison, and Li Qingmeng was sentenced to four years in prison. The practitioners wished to appeal, but presiding judge Yan Xu illegally made the verdict confidential. He said, "If you want to look at the verdict, ask the guards at Hantai Detention Center. I cannot give the verdict to you." Mr. Lian, vice president of the court, also said, "You are Falun Gong practitioners. We were informed by our supervisions that we cannot give the verdict to you directly." Falun Gong practitioners Yang Hua, Wu Yali, Ye Hao, Li Qingmeng were arrested in May 2008 by officers from the National Security Group of Hanzhong City, the 610 Office, and the National Security Group of Hantai District. Li Qingmeng was tried for the first time on October 17, 2008. Yang Hua, Wu Yali, and Ye Hao were tried for the first time on November 14, 2008.

Falun Gong practitioner Xiao Yanping was sentenced to eight years in prison by the Nanzheng County Court at around 8:00 a.m. on March 27, 2009. At around 9:00 a.m., Du Jiucheng, chief of the National Security Group of Nanzheng County, led several officers to arrest more than ten Falun Gong practitioners on the streets close to the Nanzheng County Court. They even arrested bystanders on the streets. Two months have now passed and Falun Gong practitioners Xu Yiqin and Li Jinfeng are still detained and being persecuted. Li Jinfeng began a hunger strike in late April. She is currently very weak.

Under direction from the National Security Bureau and 610 Office of Hanzhong City, Ma Ping'an, chief of the National Security Group of Hantai District, along with Li Youzhi, and Pei Guangming conspired to conduct this arrest and persecution.
