Ms. He Qionghui: The Persecution I Suffered in a Forced Labor Camp

June 14, 2009

(Clearwisdom.net)

I am He Qionghui, a woman from Yuzitang Village, Buyunqiao Town, Qidong County, Hengyang City, Hunan Province. At the end of 1998, I started to practice Falun Dafa and took on the path of the returning to my true self.

Falun Dafa is such a good practice, but Jiang's regime and the CCP persecute Falun Gong practitioners brutally, and our respected Master's reputation is being defamed. I, as a Falun Dafa beneficiary, a Falun Dafa disciple, how could I not tell others the facts about Falun Dafa? In 2001 I started to distribute fliers, put up posters, and talk to people face to face to clarify the truth about Falun Dafa. I was arrested four times by the CCP.

The fourth Arrest

On June 2, 2007 I went with fellow practitioners Xiao Ganghua and Tan Cuixiu to Duiji Village, Buyunqiao Town to persuade people to quit the Chinese Communist Party and its related organizations. We were reported by village police officer Luo Siqing. Police from Buyunqiao Town Police station arrested Tan Cuixiu, while Xiao Ganghua and I left safely. Police found me later through Tan Cuixiu. On June 4, Peng Jian, Zou Tianbao from the Qidong County National Security Division, Chen Yunhua from the Buyunqiao Township Police Station, and Chen Yijun from Yuzitang Village with dozens of policemen broke into my home and ransacked it. They carried me forcefully into a police vehicle. This was my fourth arrest.

They interrogated me at Qidong County National Security Division. I refused to answer. Police handcuffed me to a window for seven days and nights.

On June 11, they sent me to a detention center. On June 14, I was transferred to a different one. In the detention center, I refused to wear the prison uniform and to report. The director of the detention Center, whose family name is Tan, hit me twice with a whip made of metal wires. In those two months, the police did not treat me like a human being; they tortured me for two months. The living conditions were terrible. The food contained grain hulls. The soup contained ants and worms. The bed was not two hands wide. Two bins for going to the bathroom were next to my bed. My parents brought me three hundred yuan worth of food, but two thirds of it was taken by the policemen for themselves. Police also forced me to spend sixty yuan to buy a detention center uniform. The detention center refused to allow my family members to visit me. They lied to my dad and told him I had become insane, which made my family members worry very much.

Forced Labor Camp

On August 14, 2007, several people under the lead of Zou Aiming from the Qidong County 610 Office sent me to Baimalong Labor Camp in Hunan Province for a one-year term.

The police from the Strictly Controlled Team tried to "transform" me. They instigated the drug addicts to torture me all day. I was forced to stand and squat for a long time. They kicked me and pulled my hair so that I could not sleep. They also forced me to watch videos defaming Falun Dafa. They also forced me to write the Three Statements to give up Falun Dafa, and to defame Dafa in public. The torture was unbearable, and sometimes I lost consciousness. They also made up things to make me very nervous, and tried to destroy my righteous thoughts and my belief. Under the torture I did what I did not want to do and said things I did not want to say. In the ten days in the Strictly Controlled Team, each day was like a year for me. Ten days later I was transferred to the Seventh Production Team.

Police forced us to labor for long hours. Sometimes we had to work until midnight. Police instigated the inmates to persecute us, and they took our rights away. We were not allowed to talk to fellow practitioners, and could not finish washing clothes. The food was so bad that it was like the food for pigs.

Policewoman Wang Ming often defamed Dafa and Master in front of us and tried to "transform" us.

Negating the Persecution with Righteous Thoughts

After three months in the forced Labor camp, I became clearheaded.

One time a policeman asked me to talk. I exposed the persecution that I experienced in the Strictly Controlled Team. On the second day, the policeman told me, "I investigated what you said. You did not lie. The guard was not nice to you, but the police did not ask her to treat you that way. Also, there are police on guard 24 x 7. Why didn't you report it to the police? The credits of the guard were reduced. Do not think about those unhappy things any more." I knew they were afraid of their crimes being exposed, and tried to duck the blame.

After two days the police called me again. They said that if I wrote the "Three Statements" to give up Falun Dafa, and defamed Dafa in public, the authorities would allow me to go home twenty five days earlier. They wanted me to sign, but I refused. I said the drug addicts forced me to copy the statement, and I did not write it. The police swore at me after I refused to sign. They switched me to another cell, and locked me up with several collaborators with crooked understandings of Dafa. They read things defaming Dafa in front of me day and night. I felt so sorry for them and did not listen. The police forced me to write down my thoughts, and I wrote a very vague statement. Later, they said they would give me another chance, and I must do well. I realized I needed to show my determination to practice Falun Dafa. Nine days later I was asked to write the statement again. I wrote down my determination for practicing Falun Dafa. The police became soft, and said, "If you insist on your belief we cannot do anything. But do not tell others."

I thought of writing Solemn Declarations. I wrote down the Solemn Declarations and disclosed the persecution on a weekly report. The police tore up the report, and wanted me to write another one. Then they forced me to write a guarantee that I would not say anything regarding Falun Gong or about what went on in the forced labor camp. I refused. Policewoman Wang Ming was very angry. She did not allow me to go the restroom or sleep until 3 a.m. in the morning, and woke me up before daybreak. A policeman whose family name is Long swore at me for half a day and threatened to send me back to the Strictly Controlled Team. He did not allow me to buy daily necessities. My heart was not moved no matter what they said. Later they gave up the idea of making me write the statement.

After a while, I wrote Solemn Declarations and disclosed the persecution on a weekly report again. The police tore up the report and said, "Why must you always write these? We know already what you want to write. You write it often, and it makes us annoyed. Can you stop writing them?" The police were clearly afraid of what I wrote.

Later, the police stopped persecuting me badly. In May 2008 I was released.
