Teenage Boy Suffers Breakdown Due to the Repeated Persecution of his Mother

June 18, 2009

(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Zhu Yan from Gangyao Town, Longtan District in Jilin City, Jilin Province was persecuted repeatedly because of her belief in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, and was put in a forced labor camp twice. She has been jailed in Ward VI in Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp in Changchun City for a year now. Her son, Cao Yang, has a mental disorder, and has not been able to take care of himself in the past year.

On May 26, 2009, Ms. Zhu's family members went to visit her and were rejected by the guards of Ward VI. They quoted their past rule that in order to prevent people from smuggling Dafa articles into the camp, they would only allow her daughter to visit.

Ms. Zhu used to have a happy family of four. Since the Chinese Communist Party began its persecution of Falun Gong, she and her husband were forced to separate from each other. Without anyone to take care of her son and daughter, they lived like orphans, by themselves, and wandered around. In 1999, when the Chinese government began to persecute Ms. Zhu, her daughter was just ten years old, and her son was only twelve.

Ms. Zhu was arrested on the street by the police from Gangyao Police Station in Longtan District, Jilin City in 2005, and put in a forced labor camp for one and a half years. During this period, her two teenage children were left at home by themselves, without any financial support. Helpless, they went to the police station to look for their mom, and were beaten by the station chief Chen Xinzhu and other officers on the street. The boy was seriously injured, and the girl had her hair pulled out and clothes torn. Many local citizens witnessed the incident.

When Ms. Zhu was released after she had finished her forced labor term, officer Wang Liansheng from the Gangyao Police Station continued to harass her. Her son, Cao Yang showed signs of confusion because of the trauma and shock from the beating. Ms. Zhu decided to take the two children to another city to work. Under her care, her son's mental state gradually returned normal.

On May 13, 2008, not too long after she had returned home, the original police station chief Chen Xinzhu was transferred and Zhang Zhonghai was appointed as the new chief. The police station got the order from their superiors to arrest Falun Gong practitioners before the Olympics to meet their quota. Several officers rushed into Ms. Zhu's home. Watching his mother being arrested, her son was shocked again. She was then sentenced to a year and a half of force labor, and jailed at Ward VI in the Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp in Changchun City.

In the first three months that she was jailed, the labor camp forbade her family members from visiting her. They wouldn't even allow her daughter to bring clothes and a quilt. Ms. Zhu was put in solitary confinement. Only after pleading for a long time to see her mother, did they finally let the daughter see her. Recently their home was ransacked, and their belongings were stolen. Even the gas tank was taken. The son, whose condition had just begun to improve, was traumatized again. He went into the street and yelled every day for the past year, "I don't have a home any more." He is emotionally disturbed, and has been taken to the Sixth People's Hospital in Changchun City.

The family members went to the labor camp to visit Ms. Zhu on May 26 and were rejected. They asked to talk to the authorities, and were told that because Ms. Zhu practiced Falun Gong, no visitation was allowed, and the only person who could see her was her daughter. All the family members could do was to explain the situation to the police, telling them that no one was taking care of her son, that his situation was serious, and that Ms. Zhu should be released immediately.
