Two Female Farmers in Shandong Province Wrongfully Sent to Forced Labor Camp

June 4, 2009

(Clearwisdom.net) On January 2, 2009, Ms. Jiang Xiumei and Ms. Cui Xiuhua, two farmers from Laixi City, Shandong Province, were arrested and sentenced to a forced labor camp. Because Jiang Xiumei is nearly seventy, the labor camp refused to take her. Cui Xiuhua however, is being tortured in the labor camp.

Falun Gong practitioners Jiang Xiumei and Cui Xiuhua are from Wujiazhuang Village. They were reported for clarifying the truth on January 2, and were later arrested by police from Yuanshang Town Security Office in Laixi City. After being detained for two weeks, they were sentenced to one year at the Shandong Second Women's Forced Labor Camp (located in Wangchun area, Zibo City).

Ms. Jiang Xiumei is sixty-seven years old. Seeing that she was elderly, one officer was afraid that she might have health problems. He asked Shen Tao (who has been involved in persecuting practitioners and has caused the deaths and mental trauma of many practitioners) what to do. Shen Tao said, "No problem. Falun Dafa practitioners don't have diseases." The officer asked again if she could be placed under house arrest. Shen Tao insisted she not be released. When Ms. Jiang once again clarified the truth to him, he said, "See, she is saying this again."

After arriving at the labor camp, Ms. Jiang Xiumei was rejected because the results of her physical examination did not meet the requirement. She is now at home.

After Ms. Cui Xiuhua was arrested, the police would not allow her family to visit, nor did they tell them her whereabouts. They even extorted over two hundred yuan from her family. After her husband tried every means possible to get information about her, one officer finally told him that she was sent to a labor camp, but her family never received any written or verbal notice.

Her husband is currently facing enormous pressure from society and family. Their daughter has had to delay her wedding because of her mother's situation.

Cui Xiuhua is forty-seven years old. She previously suffered from severe liver problems and had to take medicine all year long. Hence she was a famous "medicine taker." Her physical weakness prohibited her from doing physical work and she was truly miserable. She also did not get along with her mother-in-law. Conflicts between them occurred frequently. After beginning to practice Falun Gong, she finally no longer suffers from any diseases. She follows the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. As a result, she improved both physically and spiritually and recovered rapidly. Her husband works in another city all year long while she takes care of all of the farm work. She has also learned to think of others and has become more tolerant. Consequently, she gets along with her mother-in-law.

Cui Xiuhua's husband has two brothers. According to local custom, if a parent doesn't have their own house, their children should take turns in caring for them. However, Cui Xiuhua's in-laws insisted they stay only in her home. Following the standard of a practitioner, she respects them and treats them kindly. In addition, she often takes care of another uncle who suffers complications from a stroke and has difficulty in taking care of himself. Last year, she built a new house. The villagers thought, "Her in-laws will have to move out now." To their surprise, she and her husband first made two new rooms available and asked her in-laws to move in. This is a natural manifestation of a Falun Gong practitioner who follows the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.

This kind and considerate daughter was put in jail simply because she told others her own experiences about practicing Falun Gong and clarifying the truth. Even the police who persecute Falun Dafa know that Dafa can truly cure diseases and that practitioners are honest and kind. But they still continue the ridiculous persecution. The existence of the persecution questions everyone's conscience every moment.
