(Clearwisdom.net) I began practicing Falun Dafa in 2004. This is a story that happened one day while I was handing out copies of the book, Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party. One person who was not clear about the true facts attempted to report me to the authorities. I quickly adjusted my attitude and mentality in time so that his attitude changed from "I will report you" to "thank you."

In early 2006, I took my three-year-old niece to the store to buy clothes for her. I also took several copies of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party books with me. We passed the books to people while we were walking. Most of the people were surprised and were happy, and some even wanted to pay. I replied, "I don't need your money. It's your good fortune to be able to read this book. Please pass it on to your family and friends."

I had one more book left before I approached a store and there was a young man there. I greeted him cheerfully, "Hi, I have a book which is very popular, do you want to see it?" He took the book, and when he saw that it was the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party, his attitude changed suddenly and he said, "How dare you give this to me, I will report you right now." Then he began searching for his cellphone.

At that moment, I was very calm, I just felt sorry for him as he did not know the truth. I looked in his eyes and walked closer. My voice was calm and I spoke with the tone of justice: "It will be very wrong for you to do that! As you know, the Nine Commentaries is a very popular book because it shows all the historical facts. Numerous people are looking for it, and I happened to meet you today and wanted to give you the book. I did not expect any payment from you, I only wanted to open your mind to learn more history about China. If you do not want to read it, just return it to me. I am not forcing you to read it. Why do you want to report me to the authorities? You should not do something like this to hurt yourself or other people."

He then raised his hand, and spoke with a rude and unreasonable tone, "I don't want to listen to you, the book is in my hand, I just want to report you." With his loud voice, a number of bystanders appeared. As I was about to speak again, a middle-aged man walked up and talked to him in a stern voice, "Hey fellow, I know what is going on, and you are over the line. She sincerely wants to give you a book, and if you don't want to read it, just return it to her. Why do you have to do something to harm others and that doesn't benefit yourself? The book is in your hand, and you want to use it as evidence to report her. What makes you think the authorities will believe you? It could be your book and you wanted to give it to her. You never know. Whatever you do or say you better have some self-consciousness!"

After the young man heard these words, he was speechless for a while. He seemed embarrassed and returned the book to me. I took the book and said, "There is a reason people meet. We all want to set a good relationship not a bad one, and we should cherish this chance. Regarding the Nine Commentaries, if you can read it, you will understand the many historical facts that are of great importance to us, and if you do not want to read it then you can pass it on to your relatives or friends, or return it to me later. I truly believe this book is original, and shows numerous historical facts. Since I met you, I want to give it to you."

"Madam, you are so kind! I am so sorry that I was so foolish and rude to you earlier. I will never do that again." I replied, "I am so glad that you understand now. Remember to discern right from wrong, and kindness from evil from now on." "OK, I will remember, then can you give me the book to read?" "Of course, and remember to do what I did today. After you've finished reading this book give it to someone else to read." He took the book, thanked me and left.

I learned a lot from this young man's change. When we clarify the truth, we should not only have righteous thoughts, but also adjust our mentality and tone of voice, be calm and stern. We are carrying out a most sacred act. When we face the unreasonable, evil-influenced beings, we need to be upright and confident, use the wisdom and power that we obtained from the Fa, stay cool and composed, and when clarifying the truth, and not back down. As long as our hearts are on the Fa, and our righteous thoughts are strong, the environment around us will be rectified and carry righteous factors. The awakening side of sentient beings will also reinforce our efforts.
